i can see sometimes why people would find it difficult to believe that there is a God. but then other times i dont understand...
something like that which has come such a long way, 2000 years!, and people still dont believe.
one thing people need to understand i think, God is not something u prove, its something u experience. and i dont understand why people dont give themselves a chance with it.
i wanna know general opinions?

Id appreciate it if you didnt refer to it as religious garbage thanks.
I believe Jesus died for us so we could at least live for him.

God's existance cannot outwardly be proven he must be found within the individual. Knock and the door will be opened. He will be waiting.

I understand what you are saying about god not being something you prove but for many people, if you can't prove something it doesn't exist, i guess the only issue here is that we are willing to believe that particles such as quarks exist in physics even though that cannot be proved yet we find it hard to believe god exists even though that can't be proved, i assume the reason for this is that there are other things in physics that can be proved yet when talking about god, most of what happened in the bible or any religious manuscipt for that matter cannot be proved to have actually happened.

But at the end of the day i guess all our ideas of god are different, for me i don't believe in the idea of a god as such but more the idea of fate and destiny.

At the same time i don't understand why people have to believe in either the evolution and bigbang theory or the creationist one, i don't see why we can't say that evolution exists but god just started it.

We understand the concept of god, its just that many believe it o be a false concept.
When the concept of god first came into beng the world was flat and at the center of the universe.
Things have changed and the fact that some of the nicest and most god believing people in the world come across such bad and hard occasions in there lives shows that God doesnt help any people who believe in him.
Whyis it that people have visions and hear words from something nd then immediately think it is god and eveybody else should believe in what they say they saw or heard.
No just because you think you had a religous experience or encounter with God doesnt mean god exists. It means you live in your oen perception of the universe.

I have difficulty with believing in a god, just as I have difficulty in believing in flat earth, earth centric astronomy, palmistry, ghosts, and all the rest of the supernatural, occult.

The fact that people have been be living in the god of the bible, which has been so for 4000 years not 2000. is neither hear nor there. Before Christianity forcefully subjugated them, there were religions that had been around for far longer.

I especially have problems with the Christians who make so ridiculous clams such as creationism. Any sympathy i may have to the believe in a personal god completely melts away with such a bazaar concept that the whole of science in totally wrong.

The answer is in 2 Corinthians 4:3-4
"If, now, the good news we declare is in fact veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing, among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through.''

The god of this system of things is Satan the Devil, and that's why the world is in such a state. God will put things to right, but wants as many people to be saved as possiple and that's why the good news has to be preached around the world before Armageddon (Matthew 24:14, 2 Peter 3:3-10). We you know the truth though, need to make sure that we are not being decieved by Satan (1 Thessalonians 5:21). For instance, if there are so many Christian organisations all saying different things, who is correct?

I can obviously only speak for myself on this matter. I consider myself an agnostic, I'm not completely anti the idea of religion, I've just never found a faith that "speaks" to me. I find the idea of a "God" that can allow such horrendous atrocities to happen in this world more disturbing than the idea that there is no "greater power" that controls everything. Personally I believe that the only greater power is Nature, we cannot and will not ever be able to control the Earth.

Of course, there are hundreds of reasons why people disbelieve in the existence of one God, but that's really not important, people should not be judged on their faith, just as they should not be judged by their skin colour, sexual preferences etc, they should be judged by what type of person they are. Its as simple as that.

Because there is no real evidence for god except in the bible and we know that what is now called the Bible started out as a series of writings based on very old myths and legends. These have since been re-written, modified, added to and translated many times. Is it therefor fair to call the Bible the inerrant word of God?

The earliest writings of the Old Testament were written around 1850 BCE. Theses were stories borrowed from the older writings of the Epic of Gilgamesh.
First Great Revision of Judaism about 1200 B.C.E. The myth of Exodus was included in the revision, transformed as it was from the older story of the expulsion of the Hyksos
Second and third revisions, 742 – 600 BCE the many gods of the Old Testament are harmonized into a singular being _ Yahweh
The Fourth Great Revision 586 B.C.E. to 538 B.C.E.
The Fifth Great Revision of Judaism 323 B.C.E. to 45 C.E. under Greek influence
The Last Great Revision of Judaism 30 C.E. to appx. 73 C.E
50 C.E. to 140 C.E. The Jesus Movement suddenly and quickly transformed itself from a social and political reform movement into a full-blown religion.
The Gospels: Mythmaking Begins in Ernest. Myths and miracles added to the bible 65 C.E. to appx. 120 C.E.
Emperor Constantine 313 C.E. to appx. 430 C.E. demanded that the bishops at the First Council of Nicea come up with a consistent, catholic doctrine that would be universal. This is where the word Catholicism comes from.
320 C.E. to 1330 C.E. Emperor Constantine ordered Eusebius to put together some scriptures for him to present to the new churches he was constructing at his new capital of Constantinople in time for his new festival of the resurrection, to be called "Easter”.
The Protestant Revision and the English Bibles 1330 to 1611. John Wycliffe organized the translation of the Bible into English.
The King James Bible version first appeared in 1611. Though the frontispiece written by the conference declares it to be a new translation, that's not really what it was. In fact, it was a revision of the Bishop's Bible of 1602, which itself was a revision of the Bishop's Bible of 1568, which was a revision of Coverdale's less than scholarly Great Bible, which was a rewrite of the Tyndale and Wycliffe works

I don't beleive in any god(s) because I see no evidence and see gods as a substitute for knowledge. Basically, they are a comfort blanket for insecure people who blind themselves so they do not have to experience the true horrors of the world. I lost my faith five years ago, when I was nine, because my dad, whom I had only met eight times, died of a blood clot. What kind of god would allow this kind of suffering? I had done nothing wrong, so what would I have to repent from, and a nine-year-old will hardly pass such a test of faith. This is why I do not beleive in any god of any kind.

As you say, God is something you experience. You understand him through own lifetime experiences, and if you live sincerely, he will become a part of your life. But that is exactly it. Most people actually hope there is no God, as they prefer having things their own way, to be dishonest, to take shortcuts, to take advantage of one-another. Religion is often not more than a formal status matter, supported with a dogma few understand and even fewer care about. Immoral behaviour is not as bad, as it is ignorant. But to people like that, God will not put in a conscious appearance. You have to recognise God, to get to know him. And in order to be able to recognise God, you have to be at a certain level of advancement.

You talk about 2000 years. During that time the Souls that worked on their own advancement made tremendous progress. In fact so much so, that they are phasing themselves out from earthly life, to give space to new Souls coming in. Because of this constant influx of new and inexperienced Souls it appears that the progress is slow, if not non-existing. But that is not the case.

Read "Rational Spirituality" available on the Dhaxem website, containing the Divine Laws, and get a fuller picture on how perfect God's work is. Remember that if you were not to recognise that progress is being made, that would imply that God is not doing his work quite as well... And I am sure that is not what you mean.

Every person works from a diferent level, just like children during education. Some are at nursery school, some at primary, some at university, and some already phased out of education.

i became a Methodist for a lengthy time period before i began that war. It ended after I switched over to atheism. The contradictions develop into more suitable than i could ignore about. technology may be chilly - besides the undeniable fact that it truly is a minimum of testable. And it passes very difficult checks on a daily basis. faith by technique of its nature won't be able to be examined for correctness or veracity. only won't be able to take position. attempting to parent God's reason drove me nuts until eventually I only determined to chuck all of it down the properly with all the different unanswered needs of the global. If we are God's try, then no ask your self he's so aloof.

Because a lot of people are self centred and wealthy and don`t want to except that they may be inferior to a supreme being such as God and that they might need him too. They want to feel the most important and if they accepted God then they would feel less significant.Look at nature and your children and how beautiful some women are , this did not happen by accident it was God that created these things.
