Tube root, I am not righteous in my own eyes.

I believe all men to be sinful

but I am making the point that it is better to try to live morally than to just do what comes naturally. If you want to be remembered for something, you have to stand up for something.

why are you looking for the self righteous? Some kind of witch hunt or something?

--Aside for the most important reason to do so , that being a good relationship with God & Christ--it is better to take & make a stand.

--This is especially so , when you have a good conscience that can help one live a balanced life without the plaguing of a bad conscience.
-- That is if in fact we do let a healthy conscience help us make good decisions, when we have no principle or law on hand!

Please note the affect of a healthy conscience, even when one is not necessarily practicing religion:

(Romans 2:14-15) 14 For whenever people of the nations that do not have law do by nature the things of the law, these people, although not having law, are a law to themselves. 15 They are the very ones who demonstrate the matter of the law to be written in their hearts, while their conscience is bearing witness with them and, between their own thoughts, they are being accused or even excused."

--Did you note the idea of the conscience "accusing or excusing"--that indeed can help us have a greater quality of life based on a well trained Godly conscience that can indeed bring us greater happiness, peace of mind, self-respect, along with a reasonable confidence in facing life & its issues.--Christ example , showed us what we could be like in even our imperfections.

--I for my part would rather have the approval of God & Christ than be men pleasers just to be accepted.

Your question: "Is is better to live standing up for your moral beliefs or just to live as you please? which is a better life "

My answer: Both. Neither.

What is it with you and morals? You must be righteous in your own eyes. How can you stand to relate to us sinners?

Living life as you please but still having moral beliefs will put you up against opposition and harassment. You will not be left alone to live as you want unless you accept the ways forced upon you by other people. If you truly want to live as you please, you will probably have to stand up for your decisions. Unless of course, it is your desire to be trampled down and bossed around by others?

I think it is much better and advisable to live the life that is in Christ. Any other way of living is not living at all and is a waste of time. Living involves life and life is in the son of God.

Well, your question is a little off in that you assume that living by moral code is not living as you please. The two can be one. I choose to live by my moral beliefs and that is as I please.

I manage to combine the two

Well, even "living as you please" implies some moral belief system.

God bless.
