a christian:most of them will help people in need

Why would you want to ask a question which seems to point an accusing finger at anyone?
Christians sometimes fail to live up to Christ's call to be a blessing to others, and non-Christians do just that... they are not unable to step in and give a helping hand.
I would have the expectation that God would send me who he wants.
But it really should be that we who call ourselves Christian should be the first and the most eager to give of ourselves to help anyone.

Personally? Either one. I have friends on both sides and they'd help me out in a heartbeat. I show them my love and affection for them on a daily basis by either stopping by and helping them out with something or giving them a call. I don't look at religion as a factor for befriending somebody. If you respect me, I'll respect you. If you disrespect me, don't expect it back quickly in return. I can take months to make my move, and when I do, I go for the throat. But not many disrespect me. By disrespect, I mean cross all lines and go so far you can't even see a glimmer of it.

Well first you have the firemen (some of them are Christian), then the insurance company (some of them are Christian), the construction crews to rebuild your house(some of them are Christian and your family (ditto).

Well, the founder of my religion told a story about a man who was set upon by robbers, and left to die by the side of the road. Two religious people rode by him, and left him to die. Then somebody who wasn't a member of his religion (and also a member of an ethnic group that considered his group enemies) stopped and picked him up and took care of him.

But I try not to pre-judge. It hardens the mental arteries, if you know what I mean.

It's this sort of nonsense that continues to build walls or intolerance, perpetuates a continual us/them attitude, and keeps wars going.
You are closing doors instead of opening them, and we all lose in the end.
