It depent where you at in HK, The cheapest and crowded way is using train From HK (tsimsatsui) to LOWU station where is the last station on the journey THEN when you out site the border you see the downtown shenzhen, if you like sea view take a Ferry from either macau ferry terminal or china ferry terminal both terminal are in diffrend island of HK .after your arrival you can take a bus or taxi to skip Shekou when you choose Shekou border or You can ask any travel agent that offer private car even limosine from HK to lounggang border (where you see all other part of hk), I my self prefer Ferry you can eat,drink and even take a nap or moving around. hope this help

i personally would go through a tour company where the price includes (ferry or train ride) transportation, and your visa. If you have a US Passport, i believe it is hard to get a visa without going through a tour guide. We went through a tour that was set up through the Hong Kong Tourism Board center. You can find them online and i think even book online. They have some other great tours as well. I suggest Macau. Our tour went from HOng Kong to Macau via ferry and then train to Shenzhen...

You can take the KCR train along the East Line (from East Tsim Sha Tsui Station or Mongkok Station if you are staying in a hotel ard the city). Not sure why it's called East although it's going north.... Travel all the way to the end to Lo Wu Station...and u're right at the border! Just walk across customs... make sure u have a valid passport & visa... and viola...there u r....

You can go by bus. Most hotels can help you arrange that. Or you can go by ferry. The hotel can have a taxi drop you at the ferry point. I usually depart from the Shekou terminal. The ferries run about every 30 minutes. It takes about 40-50 minutes. I can't remember the cost. I think it is about 80-100 RMB. You can also use HKD.
