No, it's Italian for counsellor. It's used in Italy for both political counsellors or Mafia counsellors (if we're talking about news). It's actually a very vague term and its meaning could be extended to any person who gives advice.

no, the hell with spelling, you got it wrong, it's derivative is Italian, iot maybe parlance here, just to show my nknowledge of the language--actually idiomatic, it is spoken srtill (sp) incorrect, accorsding to native born Itialian's (well one it's Southern , and the Southern/Sicillian dialect means : boss.
