I've failed to graduate from my previous university now i would like to join a new university and graduate, my father claims he does not have money to spend on my studies anymore. But I'm sure if he can spend money on me this time i WILL make it and i have a very bright future. Please tell me how to convince him so that I may receive help from him for my studies. Thanks.

Take a year off, get a job, earn some money, show your father your savings towards your education. Show him you can concentrate and achieve goals. He might change his mind.

As a parent, there comes a time when a decision has to be made, You didn't only fail yourself, you failed your father, he expected much more of you, and now I feel if you really want this you will sit down and have a talk, not arguing a talk, with him. Tell him I know I disappointed you and it did cost you a lot. But this time I'm really ready to focus and pass, if you will give me a chance to prove it to you, I need your help. If after one year, your not satisfied with my schooling, then I will understand, if you say no more. Meanwhile get your act together, maybe you can get a job, and show that you are willing to make enough to buy your books, or something. Don't take your father for granted. As a parent, we also have to watch out for our future,Medical expenses, medications, house taxes, and everyday living. He might not go for it, but you can try. See if you can get a student loan. or check into grants.

I feel that you shouldn't expect your father to pay the entire cost of your furthur education, I don't know how's your family like but think about how much he has already spent bringing you up, and if you have other siblings. You have to tell him exactly what you will do to make sure you graduate this time round. If you can get a part time job then co-paying for your own education is a sign of good faith too.

Ask him to co-sign an education funding note. You accept this debt as your own. Perhaps he will agree to pay it if you graduate, or, you can pay it if you don't. It's putting your money where your mouth is.
