I am a believer--well versed in the original languages. With all the atheism out there--Stephen Charnocke wrote (attributes of God) People want no higher power over them---they want to make God go away so that there are no Holy ideals to follow or possibility of hell to pay.

God is more than an ' idea ' but I do understand what your saying. and yes, some people like to wallow in sin and be free from consequence, so they deny the existence of God, and make up lies about God. some people might find themselves in a sorry state on judgment day

Personaly I believe there is a movement that desires to have one world government and thinks it knows what would be best for everyone. Christ and God get in the way of that movement because Christians are taught to take responsiblity for their own actions and rely on God rather than government to supply their needs. This movement has been gaining strength so it's more obvious now. You'll recognize it when they ridicule and insult you. That behavior is trademark for them since they can't find facts to refute your belief and need to get control.

What idea, for example, of God do you want to get rid of? If you connect the word "idea" to the word "God", first think that "idea" cannot come without "id". And what is ID? ID (dict.die.net)primitive instincts and energies underlying all psychic (affecting or influenced by the human mind)activity. Thus come ideas. But God is not produced by any man's ideas. In fact there are gods (and they are visible). Biblically speaking, there are gods who cannot talk, smell, walk, touch, hear and taste. There is also a God who is just a component of another so-called god.

If some people want, then they have to sway lexicographers in the eradication of the word "gods" in their dictionaries.

No matter what their intentions are - they are merely humans, finite and not able to rule their own lives. So, how can they really get rid of the God that made them and hopefully make him cease to exist? Such thoughts fail even to convince a fool. It is written "A fool has said in his heart there is no God."

It is also written "The foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of God and the weakness of God is stronger than the strength of man."

First of all, God is not an "idea", He is a person, and Almighty God, creator of this Earth and all that is in it or on it.

They can fool themselves into thinking He will go away, but He will certainly not.

I just want people to realize they don't need to obey, or feel like their is a wiser entity out there than themselves. Your life is your life. If you do good, take credit for it, don't give the credit to a non-existant entity. If you do wrong, take responsibility for it, don't blame it on satan. If bad things happen, that is the way it goes, don't play the "god works in mysterious ways" card.

No.

I think that "believing in God" and "not believing in God" are more visceral than that. You either feel it in your guts, or you don't.

And as for not having someone to obey, well, I don't need God for that. I have a wife.

You may find this hard to believe, but some people don't want you force feeding them your religion. Let people make their own decisions without trying to sell them or scare them into believing what you believe.

I know this might be hard to swallow for you.
