He's had it now for two days and although I am trying to encourage him to drink plenty he isn't really interested in drinking water or juice. Can anyone help. Thanks

Maybe just a wee stomach bug, keep offering him drinks, if it doesn't clear take him to a doctor.

Try a little Pedialyte or Gatorade. Popsicles and Jello count as liquids too! Juice can make diarrhea worse. Don't give milk either, it's not as easily digested. Don't give immodium or pepto - they can make viruses last longer and have been known to give BAD tummy pains.

If he's happy and playing - let him. =)

As far as foods go - load him up on carbs - Cheerios or crackers (animal crackers too) for snacks, noodles or pasta for meals, mashed potatoes - pretty much anything starchy you can get into him. If he's not too into food, don't force him, but he MUST drink.

If it lasts longer than a week, or he stops drinking or peeing, he needs to see the doctor.

what you could to to encourage him to drink is make some juice up and put it in lolly moulds or ice cube trays, this always works for my daughter, try feeding him some rice, this might help the Dioreeah doesn't clear up after the third day, take him to the doctors but it's probably just a bug.

He needs some Pedialyte, if he won't drink it give him the popsicles. If he's not drinking anything he can become dehydrated and he'll a lot worse. If he still doesn't drink and he symptoms go go away, take him to the doctor.

Keep on with the fluids because if he has a bad tummy, each time he goes to the toilet, he is losing the salts and vital fluids he needs and before long he will become dehydrated.

Eventually if he's not eating the bug will stop feeding on his tummy contents and settle down but you must insist he drinks plenty.

just persevere

Sure hope you've checked with your peds about this. Most important thing is to keep him hydrated with liquids. Try Pedialyte. I prefer organic and natural products and have used Baby's Only Essentials Rehydration Solution.

You should get him some pedialyte and put it in a sipper cup. He may dehydrate and get real sick. Perhaps take the sipper cup and put some maple syrup on the nozzle.

Good luck !!
