Basically for the last two years or so, iv been doing the same routine at school, which my focus slowly yet steadily deteriorated as time went on. Now, I can hardly concentrate, and I seem to be drifting off in more and more of my lessons, therefore i am falling WAY behind in my studies. When I get home i procrastinate and seem contented to play computer games all night. However when i actually get round to it, revision seems to be useless, seeing as this lack of concentration and sluggishness means that information goes in one end and out the other. I have a rather healthy diet and go to the gym twice every week. What I am looking for is any solution that will bring my brain out of this "rut" and keep the activeness happy, so it doesnt remain sluggish and unused, meaning I can concentrate more, focus more, and it all leads to giving myself a higher self esteem to do the best I can in my upcoming exams. Thanks! Ash

If you live on campus and have the ability to go somewhere else, you should find a spot that you are not use to and study there. I noticed once I changed my environment that I was not in this banal intellectual rut any more. When I feel that I’m not in the mood for a project or I’m just sluggish. I push the project to the side and take a break. I reevaluate the task at hand and what I can do to successfully complete it. Once I am in the mind-state where I know I am ready to start and finish a project with nothing less than my best, that’s when I return to my task. Also, finding a study buddy also helps because you can support each other with positive interaction. If all else fails you may want to start taking a daily multivitamin. Bayer Nutritional Science-Vital and Sharp Mind is a great product. It helps promote memory and concentration. Good luck with your exams.

That's the problem of school... The way I got back on the track is by studying by myself something I really wanted to learn, I studied quantum physics and philosophy. You just have to pick something you're already good at or that you really want to learn/to practice. That should allow you to concentrate while in school and still having time for video games.

One thing to remember, do not feel any guilt playing your videogames as it really helps you in life, don't trust everything medias and parents are saying, I'm playing everyday and many of my professional advantages are related to what videogames taught me.

Hey this is Ash S on another account seeing as it doesnt let u edit the original message. Thanks for all your replies, I will certaintly give them all a go. I was particularly interested in the "Bayer Nutritional Science Vital and Sharp Mind" vitamins. However i dont live in the US and therefore the sites I looked at dont ship to the UK.

Is there an alternative product just as good/even better which is UK based? Links greatly appreciated.!!

Perhaps you might wish to go for a run, or play some sports other than going to the gym?

Usually when i'm stressed out, i will go for a run, have a rest while munching some fruits, bath and have a light meal. drink plenty of water, and rest early, and work up early to study. i'm those who can't burn midnight oil, but i can wake up early to study. leave a basin of water and a hanky in it in your fridge, use it to wash your face in the morning, and youll feel fresh
