Saving us from what??
Religion is what we need to get in touch with our spiritual world. It helps us to understand how to live in community and improve our relationship between each other. Religion improves our relationship with ourselves.
Food nurtures our body, religion can nurture our values. It can help us to overcome bad moments.
We are not condemned to something wrong... we need to be saved when we are in danger. Do you think all of us are in some kind of danger?
Like the "caw boy" wisdom says: If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.

Religions are various paths one can follow to hopefully find personal integrity in a world led by godless leaders on all levels. Money is the temporary savior here in this materialistic world ... without money, one is doomed until death. I wouldn't worry about all that unless you're a godless leader or unless you have lost your personal integrity by placeing money above all else. Just do the best you can and leave the rest to God.

Well, it won't save you from yourself, nothing can. If there is an afterlife, of whatever kind or dimension, you will still be you - can you live with that? It's not like you or we get a personality or brain transplant - your soul is what is immortal, the very core or essence of what is you.

What man made cannot.
And you have to want to be saved. Some do not want anyone to obey or regard as wiser than themselves.
