Great opening diolgue. Yes, when I came to New York and went to a Run DMC show, never used the word prior to that, allthough I'm Southern, Run DMC did not use as an inflamatorary remark, just said it. and i just enjoyed the show at Brooklynn's LaMore. also, NYC just enjoyed the show, did not come out spilling racial slurs. !NYC 1st time I was ever called a white devil, never called a devil before, not white, but the devil assignation floored me. It will all work out--in my opion the dsebate is if a caucasion can use the word a miniority can't--ignorance and the constitution are alligned, the constitution will stand, ignorance won't. It's just a matter of time--until then let the minor debate continue--if a word needs to be reclaimed now, then lert it be, if history will be the judge, what is the dilema, . Hot topic , i applaud your posing the question, a dialogue should ensue. in my opion it will resolve itself, should be explored and it shall. iappologize for the imprecision, not exactly what i would have preciously reponed, but the essence is there. Yes, the word is offensive if used by ethnicities that have had no adverse effects to continue a pattern of short-hand put downs, advamcing themselves, usually. (for whatever rationale) Yes can any et6hnic group reffer to themselves in any wat Yes, (they all were disgreminted, there were big degrees) until the time when the soprano's (great series) does not equell all italians', just a segment , ,each ethnic group can laugh, but history will all show us the same...,eventually. But no legislation. I may know it
's wrong) at the most elemental,, biologically)but let's not deprive our neighbors their constitutinal right to free speech(however objectional, to most with an I.Q.)/.History will document, and it will reflect what is true. Until then. again I applaud you for a legitimate, timely Question, appologies for my (sp), (sic)
History will Absolve
