Is it safe to take a sauna/steam bath?
They say that going to sauna or steam can lower your blood pressure. Is it true? Currently my bloodpressure has increased to 130/80. It used to be 120/80

Yes. It is still safe with a bp of 130/80. It is also a good cardiovascular exercise. But if you are hypertensive, or if your bp reaches 140/90, don't do it.

Steam Bath is 45degrees Celsius and with steam.

Dry heat Sauna is >90 degrees celsius.

All it does is make you sweat and thus losing both water and electrolytes eg. sodium and potassium.

In theory ,if you lose more water than your intake and with the vasodilation of the cutaneous blood vessels , your blood pressure should drop temporarily, but probably not enough to be a treatment in high BP.

Once you take enough fluids like fresh orange juice it is perfectly
safe . If you opt out for dry heat you can take the precaution of putting a damp cloth over your nose and mouth to avoid the discomfort of breathing too dry air.

Good luck

I think it depends on whether u have a BP problem but it should not be a worry. Although I would advise to go see ur doctor beforehand just to be sure.
