To stop your dog from eating her own stool, pick it up right away. Changing the food you feed may help. Look into holistic dog foods because the better the diet the less likely the dog will be to eat its own feces.
However it is a dog and dogs just like to eat and roll in disgusting things.

This is called Coprophrasia, it is common in pet that don't get good nutrition your food you are giving your dog may not be a good quality food you can add to this food and make it more healthy by adding freshly cooked vegetables or you simply can add fresh parsley to the dogs food, at first you must add just a couple of spoonfuls of either the vegetables or parsley to get his/her system used to the change in diet, then after a week you should be able to add more you can then add the same amount of serving vegetables as you have by then and always feed your dog vegetables or parsley, you can also add a dollop of plain yogurt to his food this will keep him healthy, I have done this before with my dog for years and he was very healthy it also gives them a nice coat and keeps there breath much sweeter smelling, also add a little Olive oil to the dogs food but just a drizzle. Good Luck ! His fece eating should be over soon as long as you add those vegetables or parsley or you can add both at the same time if you wish along with the olive oil

There are many reasons why dogs will eat their own faeces, some are behavioural and some environmental. To try to stop her put some pineapple chunks in her food for about 2 weeks, doesn't have to be lots just a couple of chunks each feed. For some reason this makes faeces taste horrible to dogs (if it didn't already!). You need to continue this for 2 weeks so you break the habit. Good Luck.

it is normal for a dog at that age to eat up its own mess but is a very bad habit that most pups will do during than age try making her distract from her mess and she will be forgetting about eating that mess..

Most puppies do this. She should stop it soon, around this age. They are just taking back some of the nutrients that comes out as waste. She will have seen her mother do it to keep the bed clean. It's not nice to see and gently distract her when she starts to. It's not a problem, and like I say, she will be out growing it soon.

You are leaving that 'food' product down for the puppy to 'eat". Food is not totally digested by a dogs digestive tract. I suspect you are not feeding her 3 times a day, or not letting her out after 20 minutes after she eats. You must get the Shepard and a training schedule of 3 meals per day. You must let her reliever herself after 20 after placing her food down to eat. Weather she eats or NOT, only 20 minutes, then outside for pottie. You will have to keep her on a leash when you take her to the bathroom spot. Praise her when she relievers herself! You are building self-confidence in her by doing this. She lives to please YOU.
Good Luck with your German Shepard Dog!!
