We spend so much time thinking about and questioning such things, that we forget to actually live and enjoy the life we have while we have it. If people are so happy, why do they need to believe in God? And if god does exist, so what? Is it really gonna turn us all into a load of bible bashing, holier than thou idiots! How hypocritical would that be.
It still won't answer all the other questions about life.
And please, with all due respect, don't quote stuff from the bible, that defeats my question

I became born again 15 years ago. and scince then I do not worry about such Questions that worry us to death, to me my God is real, I do not care if he made the world, I do not worry where I am going when I die that was one of my biggest fears before, the only worry I have today is will I see tommorrow, and if he takes me so what, we are all born to die ,no escapeing it
I am 65 now and the happiest days of my life have been the last 15, even though I have 3 slipped discs and riddled with authritus,
I played rugby,I worked on the night club doors,I've broken a few noses and worse,so I,ve been around, and I worried and I asked the same questions you are asking, we all have to believe in something or what is the point of living, just because we choose God, (its better than choosing the devil)does not make us a better person, its the way we feel inside that count's, and knowing what is right and wrong, and as a Christian its not up to me to be a hypocrit or to think i am holier than you we are born as sinners each and every one of us so why should i run you down or any body else.and no I do not believe in bible bashing niether do I believe in poisenng the mind(suicide bombers etc)
Life is precious we only get one chance, we have our own mind and what we do with it is up to us,what do you think the Adam and Eve story is about, and if you wan't answers to life you are going to ask your maker, no one else knows, the one thing I am glad about is the day I heard the good news, it made me a better person inside and I started to think of others not my self centered self.

Good question. I use my knowledge to answer questions here because I enjoy it. But on a day to day basis life is for living.
So outside the 'walls' of Y!A I don't think much about all that "is-there?" "isn't-there?" stuff. I don't think there is any way of finding out the absolute 'truth', it's all opinions anyway, so why fret it? Life's too short.
Generally speaking I'm a very happy person. And this is largely down to my 'spiritual'/philosophical beliefs. But I'm not going round thinking about them all the time. I put into practice what I need and the rest is just an intellectual game really.
Thank you for asking.

I believe that there is a lot to evolution, I studied it at length in undergrad work years ago, however, I do not think it is without flaws in areas. Most folks that think they know all about it are woefully ignorant, and are not in concert with the actual consensus of the science community that works in the area. Evolution is provable, look at dog breeds that are 'man made', such inner specie evolution is accomplished all the time without the influence of man. We could explore this until Christ comes again, which I also know to be certain.
Sorry if that confuses some, but that is just poor lil' ole me!

Actually, I do not care whether or not evolution is true. I believe in God. I don't see why it is so hard to believe that God created a way for the world to evolve. It would seem strange that he would create the world to stay exactly as it was when he created it. Many things have changed since he created it.

Believe what you believe is true...
As for me, I like life better if there's no argument between the church and scientists... It's much better if you listen to each of their lessons... Trust me! I've learned a whole lot from the two. That's why I didn't choose either side... Life's much sweeter that way ; P

Most people have accepted the evolution theory.
Because all people are not so happy.
Belief in God or belief in the lessons taught in the bible is important to people, our society's morals and ethics and laws are based on the teachings of the bible, of course it's important.Only with the fall in influence of the church in recent times have we seen the fall in moral fibre.

I don't care about either, I know "where I came from" my Mom and Dad made whoopie, and here I am...good enough for me. As for the rest, I'll do what I know is right, and religion be damned (as ironic as that really is, lol). I don't care what other people SAY that someone umpteen thousand years ago SAYS is proper. I behave as I was raised to behave by my parents. Who cares about what someone else thinks/believes?

First of all. why can't a supreme being and evolution both be true? Secondly, if you don't care; why are you posting a question about it? Lastly, if we had a definitive answer about the existence of a supreme being that would by definition answer the most important questions about life.
Some of us are deep thinkers, and some of us aren't.

It doesn't matter to me how we came into existence. I'm only interested in a) understanding the nature of what exists b) what I should be doing while I'm here.
