My friends insurance told him you could But when he went to the post office they told him a fax one wont do so he had to get another one from his insurance .Then he got his tax disc hope this helps you.

If they do they are wrong. It should always be an original document, the idea being to fight fraud.

Best bet is to apply on line. The software does the checks for valid insurance & MoTs. Its a very quick & efficient service. I applied on a Sunday night & I had my disc by Tuesday morning.

No they won't.
Try renewing it online - if your reminder has a 13 digit number printed in large type on it, the insurance will be automatically checked, as will the MOT certificate, as you apply.
No need to actually have either of these documents to hand then.
You will need a credit or debit card though.

No they don't, your insurance company can normally have the cover note to you next day by post.

No, but if you have a new style MOT cert then you can do it on line and they will issue one knowing that your car is MOTd and insured.
