Quite simply, it's education versus ignorance.

The entire argument against homosexuality is based in religion. There is no empirical evidence to prove it is a choice nor that it is any danger or threat to humans. There is plenty of evidence to suggest (though not prove) that homosexuality _is_ genetic: studies on twins separated at birth, studies on brain chemisty, studies on families with multiple sons, among many others.

And the lie of the "gay pedophile" has been demonstrated to be just that, a lie. If you want to know what a pedophile looks like, Dickless Chichanery and Newt Gingrich are thousands of times more likely to be than their respective daughter and sister.
- they are heterosexuals, the women are lesbians
- males make up 99% of pedophiles, women 1%
- they are moralizing conservatives, the women aren't
- Gingrich had multiple marriages, the women never

You made the wrong question.
Individuals called Christians are free to think what they accept or not. I'm one of them and I have nothing against gays.
Something different is that the Pope is not for that...
Gay marriages can be a fair thing. But it is a new thing for society. So it takes time for all to accept that. The normal concept of a family is a father a mother and their kids. Now is possible to have 2 parents of the same sex adopting a baby that need parents. That sounds good for me.

Not all atheists agree with gay marriage. Not all Christians are against gay marriage. This question is a waste of space.

The answer is quite simple. Christians believe in what the Bible says (as far as they want). This comes from the Old Testant and what few people understand is that the Old Testament is history and written for the preservation of the people of the time. Too many people take what they like and believe in it.. as an example. they do not believe that a non-virgin, unmarrioed must be stoned, but they believe homo-sexuality is doomed. They do not believe in selling theirdaughters and a thousand things more in the old testament.. but cling fiercely onto things that they inherintly believe is right.. Atheist not believing in the Bible see things from a more Humanitarian point of view.

Because atheists don't have any religious doctrines that tell them how to think. Christians have a holy book that tells them homosexuals should be put to death.
