i am grateful for everything that has ever happened to me, whether it was something i caused to happen, or outside of my control. even really bad stuff is important as that is what shapes you, the choices you make as to how to deal with it, and the lesson that you learn from it. for me, being told i have a dibillitating incurable disease, helped me see that life is too short to live it for others, and that you should always follow your heart. as a result, i found the courage to worship God in the way i was called to, having been too worried what my freinds and family would think of me before.
im glad i got this disease, it set me free in a way i could never had imagined.

I am very grateful for the experiences in my life.
I believe that being grateful is at the very heart of my spirituality.
We must be thankful that we are alive, and that we have the ability to serve, in any form we are able.
We are thankful for the sacrifice of Christ, and for all of God's blessings and mercies.
Being thankful also makes you more appreciative of others.

I'm grateful for even my bad experiences, like my bipolar disorder, the discrimination I've faced for being gay, and my experiences growing up in an abusive church. They have made me stronger. This is going to sound SERIOUSLY sick, but I'm a horror movie fan, and one thing that has influenced me to appreciate my life and be grateful for my blessings is Saw. I know, I know...twisted! But it's true.

...Ephesians 5:20 says this: "always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father"
...I Thessalonians 5:16-18 says this: 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
...My mom always pushed us to express my thanks, i.e., when we had a great meal at my grandmother's house. I was young and had no idea how much work there was to produce a nice meal for a crowd of relatives.
...Too often I am grateful after the fact, instead of in the midst of difficult things.
...Somewhere in Proverbs it says "a joyful heart has a continual feast".
...I heard it said that what happens to you will make you bitter or better, and I have learned that I really don't have control over much of anything, except my attitude.
...Give thanks - the Lord is worthy of our praise and thanks, all the time. It is command and we should do it regardless of feelings. It is very beneficial for our spiritual lives; obedience is right, and helps us grow in the Lord. A grateful heart relaxes and trusts in the Lord. In Scripture we find that complainers and doubters do not please God.
...If something fails or doesn't work out the way you planned, God has something better in mind for you; trust Him.
...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and be saved.
(Acts 16:31)
...Whosoever will, may come.

Yes, God surely appreciates our gratefulness and is more near to the one who is humble.
I like to be humble, but sometimes I try to do things as though I know everything, but mostly things my way are failures. But God's way though may take time and patience, its the best. So better to be humble and grateful.

"Where attention goes, power flows".
What does that mean?
It means that what you focus on, what you put your attention on, becomes more real to you; it moves to the front of your awareness and other things become background.
Thankfulness is concentrating on the good things; and when you do that, other stuff becomes the background. So being thankful makes the good things in your life more real, more vital, more accessible.
When you're concentrating on all those good things, it's difficult to be petty or prideful, condemnatory or complacent, self-satisfied or sanctimonious.
Being thankful first means noticing - and that puts you into the state of awareness and awe which is the foundation for all spirituality.
