What a great person you are! We need more like you! God bless your good heart!

Wrap your goodies in plastic wrap, then bubble wrap so they don't get damaged. Then you can preserve them by placing a slice of dry ice in there. It will last quite a long time and keep everything cold.

Bless you!

Soak the cakes in liquor--like rum.
What kind of cakes do you want to keep fresh? Some cakes don't even stay fresh ovenight. How about wrapping the cake up in foil and freezing it. Then double wrap it, put in an airight tin and send it off while still frozen.

If you pack them In Dry Ice the Postal Service may
not take them since the USPS can not guarantee
a time on Troop deliveries. Do not use or send
liquor since it is illegal to send liquor in the mail,
especially to Islamic Counties....even though
you are sending things to troops they still must
be within the mores of their culture. The best you
can to is to wrap them in plastic and bubble wrap to
allow non-movement within the package. Write
"FRAGILE" on the package.

Are you sending them to people you know? If not, you can't send homemade items, you can only send them to people you know.

Rather than cakes, learn to make hard candies. You'll need a temperature thermometer and you'll have to experiment with it, but once you learn it's easy. They pack and ship really well, too, and the troops like them.

If you're looking to ship to random people, try www.anysoldier.com. It's great.

Cakes are tough to keep fresh. Cookies can be vacuum sealed and last very well.
