That is so disgusting. Stomach lining??? Egggghhh. Ick ick ick. I worked at a grocery store and that $hit was so nasty and stinky and it dripped everywhere. Lots of people bought it though? Why don't they just leave it for the dogs. Who actually eats that crap? I know it's for menudo but what for? Does it enhance taste. I don't see how that's possible it smells horrible. Do you like chew on it in the soup or something? Me I'll just stick to plain old chicken. Sorry but this is just really disgusting to me.

Many European people love tripe. Julia Child did it on her show, and the recipe is in one of her books. The episode was "Tripe a la Mode". An Italian gentleman with whom I worked especially loved tripe and tomato sauce. Julia's method was to slow-cook it with either a white wine or a cider and various other savoury ingredients. The tripe is cut into small chunks before it is cooked. Expand your horizon!

They would eat tripe because they are ignorant. Only ignorant people would eat completely disgusting things this this when there are so many other foods that taste better. It s dirty and dangerous if not cleaned and prepared properly. Then you have to cook it in a way to hide its awful flavor. Why bother?

In my country, we eat curried tripe and beans (I think we use what you call lima beans - broad, flat and cream-coloured). It is served in restaurants. Quite tasty (not 'nasty'). Must be properly cleaned, though.
