Eat before you start drinking, and alternate each alcoholic drink with a glass of water. Also try to avoid mixing your drinks. Beer and wine sometimes give people worse hangovers than spirits due to the other substances in them.
Obviously the best way to stop getting a bad hangover is to not drink too much - know your limits!

When you've finished drinking or when you get home:
a) Drink plenty of water
b) try and have something to eat.
Next morning:
a) Drink more water
b) have a long hot shower
c) eat a decent cooked breakfast with lots of carbs; then
d) back to bed for the rest of the day!
No hangover!

Eat something full of carbs. about an hour before you start drinking
Drink Water or Gatorade in between drinks. Replace the electrolites that your discarding from your body. Dont Mix beer with hard alcohol. Hard alcohol is sugar and will speed up the affects of dehydration so if you are to mix drinks more beer than hard stuff.
Before you go to bed take 3 ibuprophren and 16 oz. of water. and when you wake up drink a glass of orange juice.

when your body digests food products it excretes an allotment of water to help digestion.
when you drink alcohol you impair the flow of things in that your body feels like it's digesting and starts the water excretion thing when actually all it is achieving is a case of dehydration which is your hang over.
how do you keep from getting ye old hang over? replace the water that your body is discarding.
