As a mental health practitioner for 20+ years, now retired, I can tell you that if you're afraid to tell the doctor you're depressed because you're afraid he'll think your "skinniness" is due to drugs, then I'd think of another remedy, or another doctor. A doctor I worked with for several years used to tell his patients to go for a walk, regularly (as in daily for about 5 days a week). He said to not make it a "marathon" but a leisurely walk with no job such as going to the store for something or walking the dog, etc.. He said to start out leisurely and then increase your speed as your arms and legs began feeling "looser" from the motion. Walk at this speed "for a while" (since it's hard to prescribe exact lengths due to people's different healths), and then begin slowing down as you begin your return home so that you don't get muscle cramps as your muscles cool down. He said to do this around 5 times a week. He laughed a bit because he knew most people wouldn't do what he prescribed because they always wanted expensive treatment with medication, etc. and so they could complain about something "severe", when all it took was a short walk 5 days a week. He was an American Indian named Royal Hunter, and he had an M.D.. He "finally" died of old age about 8 or so years ago, around the age of 83 or 85. He was a wonderful man with great intelligence and wisdom. God Bless you.

Most drugs prescribed for depression aren't sought after by addicts. It takes weeks for the drugs to build up enough for them to work in patients. See a doctor and don't worry about the skinniness making you look guilty. There are many reasons a person could be very skinny.

Talk to the doctor. Most antidepressants aren't abuser-friendly. Amphetamines aren't commonly used as antidepressants. Depression is a prevalent disorder and most doctors recognize the symptoms, including a lack of appetite, which is what it will look like you have if you are skinny as a toothpick.

you should talk to a dr. with depression you don't need a reason to be depressed it just happens. What do the drugs have to do with being skinny? (im guessing thats what you mean) Do see the doctor they won't refuse you medication
