First of all you say "recent" this tomb was found in the early 80's so yes recent in the grand scope time maybe, but not exactly breaking news. Secondly the only reason James Cameron and his freinds have to think it's Jesus' tomb is that some very comon names that also happened to be names people in Jesus' earthly family had were on the tomb. I also think it has something to do with fact no one would watch a documentry on some other guy names Jesus's tomb.

Any way the wack jobs at the AFA ( American Family Association) actually sent me a decent article on this whole thing. Check it out..

The findings are ridiculous. Jesus was a very common name back then. It would've been like John. Also, the tombs they found have something like 1000 other tombs within a mile of it.

I think it's a load of crap.
And yet, at the same time, I have to be honest and say that I'm a bit amused. I know, without a doubt in my heart, that Jesus' remains are not there. It says in His Word that after 3 days, HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD AND ASCENDED INTO HEAVEN! :D Praise God, they're not gonna find a dang thing--and when they end up NOT finding anything, maybe more people will come to a knowledge and acceptance of Christ because of it! :)

i saw something about that...

honestly, i think its a crock. How on earth would they know if its that one or not? Not only that, but the christians believe he rose from the dead and his body was gone, so how would they determine if its his or not?

if he didnt rise from the dead, i think his body would have decayed too terribly to check it out, and how would they know if it was him or not anyway? theres no other dna to match it up to.

its just another thing to get the publics attention.

If the Romans and the Sanhedrin couldn't produce the body within hours of the resurrection (and who had more to lose than them??) there's NO ONE producing the body now.... Had they produced the body 2000 years ago, Christianity would have died in its tracks, and who would really care if it was just a crock anyway...
