If a blister is punctured, it forms an open wound so it is a good idea to bandage it when one is working around unsanitary conditions. After the blister has 'popped,' the excess skin should not be removed, unless it is dirty or torn. Removing the excess skin often makes the wound more prone to further infection (Kaiser Permanente, 2001). As with all wounds, it is a good idea to keep blisters clean.

i think the best thing is:
1.Clean It very well with antimicrobial soap
2.Pop it with a sterilized needle-it will releave the pressure
3. Use the brand- "neosporin+Pain releif" on it yes there is a brand like that. i have found that it works the best
4. Cover it with a bandaid-if it's a big blister u may want to use some gauze to help cushon it
I work at a pizza shop and get blisters from the oven sometimes... it's not my feet.. but it still works!

P.S. if new shoes are making blisters-buy some better fitting shoes! they do make shoes for wide feet 2 :)
Hope this helps ya:)

Do not pop the blisters. Keep the area clean and avoid wearing those shoes for a while until everything heals up.

Prevention can be started by wearing an extra set of socks, avoiding prolonged or active wearing of the shoes, and/ or by using 'Mole-Skin' (see the Dr. Scholl's section of your drugstore-- it looks like felt with an adhesive side-- the packaging should have directions on it).

I had a read up on this one, and apparently plain old wich hazel is the best for blisters.

Don't pop your blister, no matter how tempting it is. Doing so increases the chance of infection. Instead, dab a cotton ball dipped in witch hazel on the area at least four times a day. Witch hazel contains astringent tannins that dry up the fluid-filled skin and relieve pain by increasing circulation. It also contains alcohol, which is drying.

Calendula ointment and a bandaid would help.

Or tape an aloe vera plant leaf over it. Juice side on the blister.

DON'T bust them!

He needs to wear two pair of socks to cushion the impact.

To make his shoes work for him, he can pour a cup of water in each shoe. In the morning, pour out any remaining water, and put on two pair of socks.

Water softens leather.
