I'm thinking of getting a LCD HDTV but i dont have or want to get the HD terminal [or watever its called, (i have cable)], my question is if i get a hdtv will the picture be worse than my tube tv now? Ive asked similar questions and people tell me to just get another tube tv, but i want a flat screen tv! so does anyone have any answers or opinions on the matter? ALSO, if i get the tv and i have cable as i do know will i get hd programing anyway( because i always see hd in the info when i scroll over a show or sports program) or do i have to get a special terminal to get hd? if anyone knows about this i would really apriciate it, thx

Buy the LCD TV.....

Your Low Definition station will look worse, but you can adjust the Sharpness and Noise reduction settings in your menu to "soften" the noisy picture signal until you upgrade your Cable package to HD......and yes, for some time you will still get Noisy Lo-Def signals until the Networks convert to HD signal.

The main point is you don't really want to invest in a TV set that won't get signals in the future......

But, there is an "alternative" too.....You can buy an SD TV set. That's a Low Def picture tube with a Digital tuner....it gets the noisy Low-Def stations, but the LCD TVs don't have them....
And BOY!! are they the cheap ones!
They make a great "backup TV set"
