It was Joshua who succeeded Moses and led Israel in the successful conquest of Canaan, the Promised Land.

My first answer was wrong,

After actually reading the bible I see Aaron ( Moses brother) was priets and Moses #2 guy. However it was Joshua that was moses secssor

Aaron, was allowed to enter the promised land, and Moses had to stay behind because he struck the rock that he was commanded to speak to. So Aaron became the leader.

Moses' brother Aaron became the spirtual leader. Joshua became the leader de facto.
