A new poll on Mexican attitudes towards the U.S. debate on illegal immigration has found that a large plurality of those surveyed say Americans who favor tighter border security are "racist."

The survey, co-sponsored by the Dallas Morning New and Mexico's El Universal newspaper, found that the largest segment of respondents - 43 percent - cited racism as the chief reason that Americans oppose illegal immigration.

A much smaller number - 16 percent - said U.S. citizens are most concerned about law enforcement. Just 14 percent think Americans are not racist, but fear being overrun by foreign cultures.

"Yes, it's true about racism," said Gloria Vázquez Solache, 59, a Mexico City resident who was among those polled. "They humiliate our countrymen and even burn Mexican flags. Fear of a 'foreign culture' is nonsense."

The same poll found that 76 percent of Mexicans think that crossing into the U.S. illegally should not be a crime.
79 percent of Mexicans want illegals already in the US to be legalized.

I guess they continue to confuse patriotism with racism. Almost all the pro amnesty supporters are call anyone against illegal immigration a racists. It just shows their true colors and support for illegal behavior.

Though many use the term "racism" to justify why the U.S is cracking down on illegal immigration I don't think many of the ones opposed to it are racist. I think many people find that term easy to use because so any of the ones who oppose illegal immigration tend to shout out the words Mexican a lot. If they would just quit using that word it would take away credibility from those who claim everyone that opposes illegal immigration is racist. and yes i know that many illegals come across the mexican border but that doesn't mean they are all mexican.

Its easier to scream racism than it is to look for any other reason. I don't want a nation full of illegal aliens in this country from ANY country. I don't care what color, what nationality or country of origin. Its so easy to throw down the race card and play "victim" than it is to realize that the illegal alien is the perpetrator.
By using the dreaded "racists" word they think they can make people forget about their crime. They as illegal aliens have no "right " to be in this country. They are law breakers. You can not pick and choose what laws you will obey and those you don't. And NO, its not like a traffic violation like so many pro supporters love to say. Its a federal law they are violating.
Its easier to scream racists here in the states than it is to stay in your own country and try to fix it. Its easier to scream racists than it is to take responsibility for your own actions.
In Texas where this survey was conducted there are a lot of legal Mexicans as well as illegal ones . Id like to see that survey done in another state . I would almost guarantee a totally different result.
To call someone a racists once had a meaning. It does not any more, because its used by every malcontent in the world. I am simply not afraid of the word and I fail to see how it can have any affect on me or any other intelligent thinking American.
The illegal aliens marched in our streets , shouting their hate for America and the American people. They desecrated our flag and continue to do so at almost every protest demonstration. No its not racism ,its disgust at the way we see the illegal alien biting the hand that feeds them.
You can call it anything you want,I know what it is. Its illegal.
There is a huge difference in wanting to protect America and the American way of life and the racism I see here on line from the illegal alien supporters.

Also this survey is almost a year old. Even legal Mexican Americans have changed their stance on this issue. I personally know many who do not support or hire any illegal aliens.
They too see the damage being done to their way of life by the uncontrolled influx of illegal aliens from any nation.

They want what is ours and we don't want to give it to them. Did anyone ask them to define the term 'racist'?

This isn't the debate of even 20 years ago. Our schools and hospitals are swamped and being ruined for our own people. It isn't the specific individuals at all, it is the sheer numbers, poverty, and cost associated with them.
