It doesn't really work like that.. but we sure wish it did!

The amount of calories you burn in 1 hour of running will depend on many factors.. So the numbers I am giving you are just an estimate.
Running one hour will burn an average of 500 calories.. so...
1 lb of fat is about 3600 calories.. so if you burn 500 calories with running, the math works out to you could burn 2.2 oz of fat on this run..
The other thing to consider is how many calories are you taking in a day, VS how many do you need.. and what is your metabolism.

check your bmr and see where you stand with your input vs output..

Dependent on weight. 3600 calories for one pound of fat. The best way to lose the weight is to determine your Basal Metabolic Rate( instruct1.cit.cornell.edu/courses/ns421/BMR.html ). Create a 300-500 calorie deficit each day, using a macro nutrient ratio 20-30 percent fat 30-40 percent protein and 50 percent carbohydrates. Extreme calorie deficits result in malnutrition not weight loss. Starting a exercise regimen should be done slowly not sedentary to Olympian in one day, so as to prevent injury and maintain motivation.

that would depend on a few things such as the incline of your run and how much you weigh. the heavier you are the more calories you burn
