What oil have we gotten?
AS noted above, we have not taken any oil from Iraq. We actually have plenty in Alaska if environmentalists could get w the program.
Contrary to what you read in blogs....the war is not about oil, revenge for Bush, or world domination.
What specifically do you know about military tactics which makes you informed enough to call the President a disparaging (this word means negative or demeaning) name?
Late edit-- Bush will leave office on Jan 20, 2009....no sooner , no later. Work on the future....not the past!!

The point about oil is that if the USA no longer had control of that region, Saddam Hussein would have enabled a bloc to establish itself for controlling the oil distribution with a centrally stable, anti-dollar Iraq. That country is RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of Middle-Eastern terriory.
Also, if Iraq is at war within itself (the current USA-created situation), there is not likely to be a stability in that region, so USA's influence and interests will be maintained (regarding oil/gas/global-trading companies/Palestine).
Are there any Americans who own, or work for, the oil companies who now have the unbreakable long-term contracts regarding Iraqi oil? I guess that is a different question.
Regarding Bush's religion, If I were an evil tyrant, I would certainly tell people that I wasn't. I would associate myself with other people who would prefer peace (and the rest of Christianity's message).

We protect the oil because it's a source of income for Iraq. We don't want the oil; if we were here for oil, we would have taken all the oil and left by now. As it sits, I haven't heard of a single oil barge leave Iraq USA bound, and I'm in Baghdad.

Aren't you fortunate to be able to live in a country where bad mouthing the leader only makes you look foolish instead of, as in many countries, your comments there would get you dragged out of your house in the dead of night, never to be seen again?
We get about 15% of our oil from Iraq. Fact.
