My employer has asked me to create a fillable Microsoft Word form to be used at my place of employment. That was the easy part. The problem is this...I have a box on the form that's dedicated for text input. When ever the user tabs, enters or the text automatically starts on the next line, the entire form moves down with the text! :( I hate this because it automatically pushes the whole form down and starts a second page. How do I lock the form in place so that the borders can't be moved down whenever I type more than 1 line of text??

Did you just create a WORD document, or did you use the View>Toolbars>Forms, to create a fillable form? The FORMS toolbar provides text form fields, check boxes, options etc. Upon completion you can LOCK the form (see the key at the RIGHT of the tool bar) and users have access only to the fillable text.

If you use the Text Form Field, you can right click the field, select properties and limit the amount of space that is allowed to fill in the space.

Using the FORMS toolbar tools creates professional forms that are very user friendly, because the user automatically moves to the fillable areas.

If you used WORD 2003, you can also use other options, such as selected document protection, but this will not provide the control that the FORMS tools provide.
