Or are they narrow-minded?

What is the weather like?

How would it be for a young Asian couple trying to raise a family there?

the central belt of Scotland, Glasgow/Edinburgh is very cosmopolitan area, multicultural in many respects, i would say as an Asian couple i would tend to stick to these areas, not because of the attitude anywhere else, i have travelled both north and south and always found people to be very warm and welcoming, but i think you would have a much bigger cultural support network around you, Glasgow has many many Asian residents, and shops, places of worship etc The weather is another matter!! its a long standing joke how cold and wet its is, its pretty much true, but doesnt affect day to day living in anyway,
good luck

I'm a Yank who visited Scotland a few years ago. The Scots could not have been nicer, more friendly or more helpful.

I cannot comment on raising a family there but I do recommend Scotland very highly.

Scottish people are renown for easy going, friendship. respect and tolerance for other peoples. You should have no problem in settling down there. There are already a lot of Asians who have already settled in Scotland and doing good business.

All the best!/

Scotts are nice, period. To anyone. They are really lovely warm people. The weather can be quite tough, cold, rainy, cloudy, but it is part of the beauty of Scotland.
