Your age does matter as well, so here's the break down:

17-20 years old: 165 lbs
21-27: 169
28-39: 174

If you're over weight, they'll measure your body fat, in accordance with Army Regulation 600-9. The max body fats are as follows:
Age 17-20 - 20%
Age 21-27 - 22%
Age 28-39 - 24%

You might not have to lose any weight. I haven't made weight in the four years I've been in, but I make tape, so it's okay. Of course, it's easier to pass the PT test if you have less fat on you.

to join what? sorry i don't understand the question...if you mean how much do you have to lost to be at an average weight, it would be about 75 lbs...
