most definetly...the body is in a catabolic state after exercise. it needs nutrients ASAP!

an easily digestible protein source like a protein shake, fish, eggs, soy protein is optimum and sufficient amount of carbohydrates. they can be low or high GI, insulin sensitivity is high after training so there is no fear of fat storage (in the non-obese).

There is no harm in eating straight after exercise. But it is better to give a little time gap to normalize your body before you eat.
