To answer your question literally. The most energy loaded food is anything that is pure fat. Because the unit of energy is a calorie and fat has the most calories per gram then a 100% fat food would be the most energy laden.

The best carbs are whole food carbs not enriched through processing.

Whole grain bread is definatly one of them...others include potatoes, bananas, pasta, apples, rice, oatmeal, blueberries with granola, and nuts (especially almonds).

for a super-energy packed meal, try these:
Salmon over a bed of wild rice topper with almonds & with brown bread
spaghetti with vegetable sauce & whole wheat bread garlic bread
oatmeal with blueberries
wholewheat peanut butter & banana sandwhich

I'd say pasta and potatoes, then I would go with mixed dishes of some sort. Stir fry's, like Chicken and Vegetables over brown rice and Pad Thai would be great options.

My brother used to be a bicycle racer. He would load up on buckwheat pancakes and syrup and during the races, jelly sandwiches on whole wheat bread.
