Hi, everyone. I have a new kitty she is just about two months. I just got her today. I have since seen her throw up the canned food I have for her. It is the top of the line canned cat food. It is not the junky stuff. She is really tiny probably about 2.5 pounds. She is very active after she throws up. It doesnt seem to bother her one bit! Could I be over feeding her, or I dont know.

If the food you are feeding her now is different from what she ate before you adopted her, then it can upset her stomach. It will take her some time to adjust, try mixing it with hard food, or find out what she ate before you got her, and mix your top end food with that for a while.Good luck.

Find out what she was eating before. Sometimes an abrubt changein food brands or types cuases a cat to vomit it up. When you find out what he used to eat, mix a ittle of the new food with it. Then gradually mix more and more of the new in subsequent meals until kitty is eating al the new food and keeping it down. Also, sometimes if the food is too cold, the cat will vomit. So, warm her food a little in the microwave for 5 to 10 seconds.

Try a dry kitten food, she might be gorging herself on the canned food, and deworm her too, sometimes worms can cause vomiting.

my guess would be her tummy is not used to the new food. When I got my boys, I found out what they were used to eating, and then slowly weaned them off the old stuff and on to the new, and healthier food.
