From an earlier post:

Atheists have a lower divorce rate than Christians and teen pregnancies and STDs are highest in the U.S. (statistically the most Christianized country in the world) and lowest in many of the least religious countries in the world (Sweden, Norway, for example):

Divorce rates among conservative Christians were significantly higher than for other faith groups, and for Atheists and Agnostics:

http://www.religioustolerance.org/chr_di...

The rate of teen pregnancies in the U.S. is twice as high as any other industrialized nation:

http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/fb_teens....

A comparison of Christian "red states" vs. more secular "blue states" in U.S. shows that the top 15 states for teen pregnancies were all red states, while for the 16 states with the lowest rates all but 3 were blue states (including the 6 with the lowest rates):

You have a lot of links to a lot of statistics here but not one that proves the point of your question. Of all these statistics which one says Christians teach imorality. What I am seeing is a bunch of links where people are claiming to be Christian but in reality they are not.

When conducting these surveys people are asked thier religion, they answer they are christian. Saying you are Christian and actually BEING a Christian are not the same.

If there were to be a study on the color of skin and 1000 people said thier skin was blue would that make it true?

Too many people think simply a belief that God exists makes them Christian. It does not. All those imoral people in those studies are not true Christians. To be true Christian you have to do what Jesus teaches in the Bible.

The best way I can think to put this is that Christians are often hypocrites, and atheists are arrogant. Well, with that arrogance, atheists tend to be smarter than the average Christian. Most Christians don't even really believe the Christian belief (or know what it is). Basically, those you speak of are fake-Christians. Other Christians, who have actually thought out their beliefs will come to understand their morals, what they mean, and why it is important to follow them. I consider myself the latter, a Christian who follows standard Christian morals.

As I view it, there are three levels. The most ignorant being the blind religious, who basically "pretend" to be Christians because their parents were, and of course, they don't follow their morals.

On the second level are atheists, who have rejected God, but have found meaning in the morals of Christianity.

On the third are people who accept God and understand the morals. As I find it, there are very few of this kind, but understand that your average "Christian" never attends church, never partakes in anything related to his or her religion, and basically only celebrates the holidays.

It's sort of a paradox, but overall, most Christians are hypocrites. I encourage anyone to actually try to follow the moral standards laid out.

If you're a Christian, ask yourself, "Are you really?"

Well i guess if you were to be born in a christian family and you were told what to do, how to live, to worship only God , and all that stuff. and then when you start to get older you would probably get tired of the same ole same ole. A person would probably go crasey with all the freedom that they have and start to do something different (way different). I mean just look at those catholic girls lol. I hope this helps

Just to make you angry. Americans are doomed. Religious fanaticism is the only mentality that will come in handy when the all out American slaughter starts. China. The sleeping dragon waits. Go to
Wal-Mart and shop to pay for their weapons that will be used on us. We are easy prey because we are spreading ourselves too thin. Do you think the street thugs of America will fight in the streets and win? What would be left if they did win? Crime and misery is the future of America.

This is only because so many people in the United States claim to be Christian but have never really studied it, or maybe even opened a Bible. They are just as lost as you, basically.

What you just showed me is that the LACK of moral behavior is the cause not the Christian themselves. Actually this is what Jesus said exactly would happen.

If you were to go to a county and see a corrupt form of democracy, you wont do away with it--it should cause you to look at what is true. Besides, US may be Christian and all but its not their beliefs that promote it. Its the LACK of beliefs.

I submit that it's more moral to have a teen pregnancy that an abortion like all the lost souls in YOUR BLUE STATES WOULD DO.

They talk the talk, but many don't walk the walk. If they actually lived the beliefs they so loudly condemn others for not following, things might be better for them.

I think it just means that there are a lot of hypocritical Christians out there. A lot. And I think that for many Christians, they do things because, remember "Jesus died on the cross for their sins" and they can just ask for forgiveness later. Non-Christians are probably more of the mind that so called sins aren't forgiven and we must live with them, thus less condemnable actions.

It seems that most all young people have low moralistic values these days. If atheists have a better rating, it can't be by much.
