My maltese does the same thing. Starts off yellow and ends up white and foamy. I've had her to the vet a few times just to check that it isn't more than reflux, but mostly that is what it has been. Apparently it is a thing the breed does ( maltese breed i mean, i don't know if your dog being a small breed would have the same kind of problem )...I was told by the vet that keeping the weight down and avoiding oily foods helps. It is quite a scary thing to see happen. A good way to get them through this coughing/vomitting attack is to comfort them and talk to them, let them know you are there. Stroke your dog and if needed, pat them on the chest a little more firmer than a normal pat ( if that makes sense ). They get quite scared as you'd expect and being there for them is the best thing you can do. When the attack is over, hold your dog to reasure them that they are ok....Hope this helps.

First...make sure that he did not get into any chemicals such as antifreeze, cleaners, or poisons! If he did, take him and the chemical to an emergency vet now! He may have eaten a bug, lizard, or noxious plant, but he may be in serious peril. He may have eaten a frog, etc.. and then eaten some grass to settle his stomach and take the taste out of his mouth (I suspect this may be the green foam). They green could also be antifreeze, so look around and get him to a vet ASAP!

It probably has upset tummy. If you live in the suburbs bring it outside where it can eat certain grass to cure for its tummyache. Then it will throw up some more until his tummy is clear of whatever is causing the ache in the first place...Yeh ... I know it's disgusting. If that is not possible let it drink clean water. The problem should probably clear up in a day or two.

Your dog has eaten a plant or some grass.
If it does not stop vomiting within 24 hours,
see your vet. Some house plants can be
toxic to pets.Try feeding the dog some rice.
Cook it like you normally would, easy on the salt.
Chances are it will be fine in a day.

My dog does this after eating grass. I thought wolves ate grass to help regurgitate food to feed their young. If you are not sure if he ate something he wasn't supposed to I would take him to the vet. Keep an eye on him, good luck.

Take it to the vet immediatly sounds like parvo.
If not parvo then maybe it ate something bad.
I would still take it to the vet before its to late.
