She's 10 by the way.

I tend to doubt the sincerity of a question like this, when it is asked only minutes after registering.

Bored teen or bonafide pervert?

If you're really a concerned parent, you'll understand *my* concern.

Well, depends how old she is. If she's young, she's just curious. Sometimes kids mimic what they see on tv or sometimes it just tickles and feels funny. They don't know what they are doing and don't know that it is wrong to do in front of people.

If she is older, then maybe she's going thru puberty and is curious about her developing body.

Whatever age she is, you need to talk with her and let her know that it is a private thing that nobody else needs to see. Don't tell her that she can't do it because then she will think later on in life that being sexual is a bad thing. I've heard somewhere that if you tell a child that it's bad to touch themselves then they can turn into molesters when they're older. I don't know how true that is tho.

It's normal to be curious. Talk to her, and let her know it is only to be done in private, that no one else should be touching her.

Curiosity maybe. You probably tell her not to touch there and so she wants to touch there. I'm sure it's pretty much normal.

she probably sees or hears other people doing that and so does it herself, whether she's seeing it on t.v. or hearing it from people around. mayb u should limit the amount of time she uses watching t.v. so that she's not constantly looking at the t.v. for hours. if it's hearing it from other people u need to speak to her about it and teach her that doing this to herself at this age isnt the right thing to be doing, and that she should wait until she's older and more mature and when she's more aware of what she's doing.

it could depends on how old she is. all children go through a phase where everything is sexual to them. not sexual as we know it, but they know it feels good.
