Well, this isn't for paid work, but local film students are always in need of volunteer cast and crew members for their films. And, lately, with the rise of the power of YouTube, there are more local film-making entrepreneurs who just go out and make fun shorts without being students. An example is Vendetta Studios/David Lehre Productions, makers of "The MySpace Movie," which is based in Washington, Michigan.

If you read the wikipedia article about this movie, it notes at the bottom, "The world-wide attention that the video received earned the video's creator, David Lehre, the opportunity to develop a pilot for Fox Television."

So, volunteering for local film-makers not only helps to build your resume, but it gives you an "in" when that no-name person makes it big.

You haven't mentioned where you're from, but are there any performing arts companies where you live, or nearby? Opera, musical theater, concert halls, symphony... if so, call or check out their websites. Often, those places are looking for volunteers, and they may consider you for a position of some sort. You haven't indicated your age, though since you are asking for a good first job I am assuming you're in your teens. Most performing arts organizations are NOT going to hire a teenager, unless it's something like an usher or concessions... but that is getting your foot in the door.
If you want a paying job, look and see if there are any small concert venues near you. Movie theaters would hire teens, but they aren't really what you seem to be looking for.
Good luck!

Sorry, don't know where in the world you are.. but may i suggest if you are starting out, going for touristy places, I'm from nottingham england, and there we have places such as "tales of robin hood" and where there's actors in costumes acting as guides, or just playing out scenes, there's other tourist attractions like this that are really easy to get into, local childrens attractions and play groups often have costume characters also, as for writing, how about your local papers, or theatres???

go to the music school in local universities and ask if they have composers that need writers. Chances are they'll jump at the chance to collaborate.
