If you have no credit history it would be difficult to find credit card with no annual fee and low apr. But there is the issue to ask somebody (relatives or friends to be a co-signer). if you find you can apply for credit card with great advantages. For example, you can choose one fo the gasoline credit cards http://credit-land.com/1002/1002_page_13373_32283.php
or frequent flyer miles credit cards http://credit-land.com/1002/1002_page_13373_32283.php
Or apply for one of the ordinary credit cards http://requestcredit.com/Best-Credit-Cards-856011-page.php
If you can't find a co-signer you will rarely get approval for such cards. So your choice will be limited by credit cards for no credit http://ezpreapproval.com/Bad-Credit-No-Credit-Cards-1049221-page.php
Besides First PREMIER bank provide cards for bad/no cedit with guaranteed approval. So you can search through them http://ezpreapproval.com/First-PREMIER-Bank-Cards-1049238-page.php
Unfortunately such credit cards like first Premier credit cards (or any other credit cards for no credit history) aren't so advantageous but they help you improve your credit rating and in the future you will apply for card with better features.

You *do* realize that by using a credit card you are, in essence, borrowing money? If you're living paycheck to paycheck you need to reevaluate your lifestyle and live within your means. Granted, a credit card is needed to rent a hotel room, rent a car, and can help you out if you're in an emergency... but it isn't free money. If you've never had one and have no credit history, you may want to try to have a gas card or store card first (these are easy to get, but some have fees... make sure to pay them off on time!) and be responsible (don't max out, pay on time, try to pay balance in full, etc) and you'll be on your way to qualifying for a "regular" bank credit card. If you can't wait you could try to get a secured credit card where you put a downpayment and use it much like a debit card (except you pay at the end of the month... your credit limit is equal to that of your deposit, in general) and after a while, your limit will go up. Try to live within your means because getting into debt is a lot easier than getting out of it.

You want to look for a credit card that offers the following:

1. Low interest rate
2. No annual fee
3. Some sort of rewards program.

The rewards program should either be cash back, or towards some retailer or company whose products you will buy, like a Starbucks or GM or whatever. Cards that reward with airline miles are tricky at best to redeem.

Bankrate.com has a good run down on various credit cards offered.

I hun . . . oh this is the best on (well at least the one I use) Get one from US Bank because they can also set you up with frequesnt flyer miles . . . yep you got it, so evertime you spend, you can earn points towards flyer miles on North West Airlines . . . and that means flights anywhere NorthWest flies . . . wich is out of the country too! Good luck! (oh, one more thing) Please don't get into credit card debt. . . its not worth it and takes a long time to get out of. Just make sure, what ever you charge on your card you can pay back in 30 days NO LATER and you'll never have a problem -K-? <3

you dont need a credit card. You want a credit card.
credit cards are not a tool; its a method to make banks wealthy, not you. Get a debt card instead. you can use them for hotels and car rental just like a credit card and not go into debt doing it.
