Special K is garbage. the only people that say it's good for you are those who work for Kellogg's. it's highly processed, loaded with additives and preservatives and contains very little fiber. healthy food items do not come prepackaged nor do they contain 30 ingredients that you can barely pronounce.
whole oatmeal = very healthy .
special k = garbage.
Rule #1 in eating healthy - do not believe the claims of a manufacturer of a product. their opinions are biased and never reflect the truth. only trust data from a 3rd party who has no stake in the success of failure of a product.

The triumph of marketing over common sense! As part of a healthy balanced diet Special K has a place, but not as the basis for two of your meals each day for a week or two. It's not the worst cereal in the world but is still full of sugar and salt and not much else!
You probably will lose weight, but as with all very low calorie diets (2 bowls at 110 cals, a few pieces of fruit and an evening meal add up to less than 1,000 cals), most of it will be water and will go straight back on again when you start eating normally again.
Low calorie diets will also affect your metabolism - you eat very little, your body thinks you're starving, it conserves energy by dropping your metabolism and burning lean tissue, you burn fewer calories and the weight loss slows down or stops. Do this repeatedly, your body learns and the starvation response kicks in more quickly - you've just become a yo-yo dieter!
Forget the Special K Diet or any rapid weight loss programme - instead eat a varied and balanced diet and exercise. There are plenty of decent diets out there, but this isn't one of them, so don't buy the hype! Best wishes with the weight loss.

You eat this in conjunction with a normal weight loss plan. If you are eating Special K on a daily basis but eat junk food for the rest of the time, NO you aren't going to loose anything.
I like it a lot when I was eating it during my weight loss "time". I still eat it now, I love it.
But seriously, you will enjoy it as a daily morning start to your weight loss program. And if you get that "late night munchy" feeling, grab a bowl of it instead of chips or ice cream. You will find that not only is it better for you, you will feel fuller and not want to eat the whole box ( with chips, one is never enough and even a half a bag is way to many). The new special K with the granola pieces and fruit, ohh is that stuff good!

I personally swear by special k. I think its so yummy, and its healthy too which is great. I started eating it every morning for breakfast, sometimes having it two times a day as directed by the box. It was nice and everything, but it got to the point where i got really really tired of eatting the same thing every single day. So, i tried to change to it up a bit. For example, keeping in mind that its about 200 calories all together, I'd use yogurt instead of milk or have oatmeal or a small omelet instead of the cereal, because i guess i need a certain variety in my diet. But to each her own, right. Anyways, I can honestly say that i have lost some weight and would attribute some of that to my special k breakfast. I would recommend it, but encourage modifications to suit your own personal taste.

The idea behind Special K being good for weight loss is that by eating 2 bowls a day (one for breakfast, one for lunch) you can somewhat limit your calorie and fat intake, because cornflakes are pretty low in both. You might lose weight depending on what your diet is like now and depending on how much exercise you do per week. Of course you would have just as much chance of losing weight by replacing 2 meals a day with any low calorie/low fat food - like grapefruit, salad, etc.

The special k website talks a lot about the "Special K Challenge" so it can help you get started if thats what you want to do. My step-mom does it, but you and only eat one regular meal and the other ones have to be some kind of special k product (cereal, protein water, snack bars)

If you want to eat truly healthy, lose body fat consistently, normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, prevent cancer, and even boost your brain health and energy levels, you may have heard all over the news that the Paleo Diet has been found to be one of the best methods of achieving all of these benefits compared to any other popular "fad" diets out there. Go here https://tinyurl.im/aHLuw
The truth is that the Paleo Diet will never be considered a fad because it's just simply the way that humans evolved to eat over approximately 2 million years. And eating in a similar fashion to our ancestors has been proven time and time again to offer amazing health benefits, including prevention of most diseases of civilization such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimers, and other chronic conditions that are mostly caused by poor diet and lifestyle. One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Paleo Diet is that it's a meat-eating diet, or a super low-carb diet. This is not true

I think its a good way to regulate your eating, If you eat like crazy and you try to eat a bowl of cereal and a fruit 2x a day i think it can help you control your appetite. After you are done then you can start eating healthier from there.
