The country has lost so much of its morality and goodness. The world has a new Sodom and Gomorrah. We have moved away from God. That is the mistake of our country.

I don't know that I feel that this nation is any more or less moral than it was thirty years ago. After all, on a Saturday night in 1977, the mainstream activity was to dance at the disco, use cocaine, and have promiscuous sex in the back of the club. Doesn't sound alot different then what happens today.
I feel that people put alot more focus on the negative aspects of society than they do on the good. We don't believe in privacy anymore, we're more than happy to air our lives on national television in order to make a few dollars. And since we don't have any personal need for privacy, we don't expect that anyone else should have any either ... so we dig into the lives of others and we learn more about others than we would have in any other era. As technology continues to advance and we're offered everything from taking video on our cell phones to watching DVD's in our car, we become more greed-oriented. Our place in society is determined by our material wealth ... and that becomes more important to people than their own dignity and self-respect. Once the television exec's found out that most Americans are willing to sell their souls for their 5 minutes of fame, all bets have been off.

The big change happened a bit more than 30 years ago. Say about 1963. On November 22, 1963, to be exact I think the complexion of naivete changed forever in the USA.
If you want to use that as a starting point, I'd say we are less moral now. More highly skilled in certain jobs, but less educated overall. And we basically care far less for our fellow men than we did before.
We are being "dumbed down" by political correctness; and slipping rapidly from the place we formerly held of esteem in the world.

I don't know if we are actually less moral than thirty years ago but we certainly see signs of it more often. As a country (so I am speaking in very general terms) we have moved away from caring about each other. Everyone is so busy living....that they have forgotten the purpose of life.

We are out of the cold war, which I think was an unecessary battle between two super powers which could have tried to get along. I think business is thriving and in some corners of the mind they are at least considering in the theory of good business practice rather than corrupt business practice. Television is pretty much the worst its ever been, so that is bad, but on the bright side its so boring that it'll eventually lose its appeal I hope. The middle easy is still crazier than ever, but I guess you knew that.

Immediate news not with standing, we are much worse off morally than we were 30 years ago. Our values of what is right and wrong have changed dramatically. Right, and wrong were concepts that were taught and expected further back than just 30 years ago. Now, those standards do not apply as they once did and we are worse off for it.

More moral, In the past people did things ( even if they were good things) because they were told to. More people to day are autonamouse moral agents so their good acts have value, since they were freely chosen. Acting good from a good will is a much higher level of moral development than acting "good" becuase sky-daddy may spank you.

It is a LACK of morals that are making us go down the drain.
1. We no longer know what is life and where it begins and we are erradicating them by the 1000's
2. We no longer hold anything as sacred and pure
3. Pornography is raping the minds of young men and ravaging the home.
The ideal I feel we are moving from is from having God as our foundation of Truth. Truth by defintion is exclusive...and isnt it interesting that after 50+ years Russia wants God back while we are trying to kick Him OUT>

Less and no it's not good. Disciplining & teaching our children right from wrong is what we are moving away from. Our children have no moral compass.

I say we are more moral because we have more equality and rights than we did in times past. More people see that compassion and tolerance are virtues.
