Adam ... how do you explain "God has always been and always will be"?

2007-03-03 17:56:50 · update #1

when you finally get it, that would be enough

when after all your attempts to explain everything you realize you have explained nothing at all

The Chicken or egg argument for science replacing religion. I don't care what you believe, but for a minute keep your mind open to what I am going to say as much as you would some science theory or something.

Just for the sake of argument let's look at another example. Humans create computers, right? We even create computers that perform actions and have artificial intelligence. Ok, so it is safe to say we are their creators.

The point is everything created has a creator. Religion is the practice of reverence and gratitude to that which created the universe. Some call it God. You probably call it science. That's cool.

So what is your tidy explanation for everything? Science? Science is the STUDY of nature. So since it is just a method of study it didn't create anything. Science is just the means we examine the universe. What happens out their is called the universe. People just use the tidy label science to have a catch all explanation for everything...ironically like religion.

Think about it. The entire nature of your question has more to do with names and labels than anything else.

Great question. Personally I believe he had a father and grew to power-just as Jesus is his sun and will come to reign 1000yrs according to the bible. Just the fact he had a son shows some need to reproduce-and that we are important to that process.
I think the true key is in the fact that we view time as liniar-past, present, future. When in reality i bet it is a circle, no beginning or end-merely continuation. Funny that the 2 things forbidden Adam and Eve were knowledge and life. What was he afraid we would learn if we were smart enough or lived long enough? Genesis 6 even says he confined a man's life to 120yrs.
Another interesting point is Genesis mentions the "others". Adam and Eve were removed from them, and Cain was afraid of them. Could they have been the remnants of the ppl that knew and worshipped God's father? Maybe the only way to pass power was to take two ppl with a clean slate and brainwash them that there is no other God. That failed so the planet was flooded to insure any mention of God's dad was forgotten....
That being said I think if we lived long enough we would see the pattern...Man has only been keeping records of this one God about 6,000yrs-not long at all. Dinasaurs rulled for 160,000,000yrs. And alotta ancient ruins are older than 6,000yrs--who did they worship?

I have heard there are 2 choices.God made everything or it all just exploded into being.Did matter create itself? Can I shift gears ? It takes thousands of different things to make life possible everyday.Lightening has to strike the earth 20,000 times a day to keep the air breathable,so to speak. The earth has to spin at the right speed,at the right angle, stay in it's course ect. Sorry. I do not know how God came to be. The Bible never tries to explain, it just goes from the perspective that He exist. We have to choose. Did everything come from nothing or was there a creator. if I can not believe a watch or a car just came to be I can not believe millions of precisely working galaxies just "happened". I said I can't,maybe you can. Big bang?Explosions ruin, not create.

Some say God has always existed.

What a lie! This is impossible due to this explanation.
There is only 1 infinity. Infinity has no beginning or end.

The idea that God first existed infinitely before we got here marks 1 infinity. Then, there is the infinity that exists after we are gone, marking another infinite time span.

Infinity simply cannot be broken in half like that because it has no beginning or ending. It is IMPOSSIBLE. If we go back to the beginning of the creation of the earth, that does NOT mark infinity from that point on back in time, because of the fact that infinity can have no beginning or end, or it ceases to be infinity.

The idea that you can start now, with the creation of the earth, and count backwards infinitely is preposterous because of the fact, that does NOT include all time. All time must be accounted for in infinity. That includes the present & future. There are NOT separate infinities.

There is NO infinity that has a beginning or end like that..., that only occurs in finite time frames.

What am I saying? It is IMPOSSIBLE that God could ever have existed infinitely (forever & always) before we got here on earth because of the fact that it is like trying to enumerate the un-enumeratable infinity.

God is part of every atom that makes up the universe. If you put aside for a moment all that you have been taught about God,religion, evolution and start to think about life and what it means you will see that it makes more sense to believe in some type of supreme being responsible for our existence. You must let go of all previous beliefs to make this work. It is not easy and it will take time but you must persevere and you will be rewarded.

Do you think you are better than your Creator, to mock Him with this question? Did the sheep that got cloned understand what happened? You are no where near God's intelligence, you are a mere human. Get off your high horse and pray average Joe. No human can even fathom the universe and everything it holds. all the dimensions, forms of life, there are even colors we have yet to see. How close minded you are.

This question is far beyond human comprehension. God is the creator. You must have faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for. Faith is the evidence of things not seen or understood. Without faith, there is only the dead end philosophy of humankind which offers nothing. The greatest human tragedy is to live your life without faith. Those who come to God must believe that God is, and that God rewards those who diligently seek the Lord. End of story! Final Answer.

There is no way anyone in the world can explain something they do not know. GOD has always existed and that is the bottom line. HE is not bound by time or space. HE created them both.
Why is it not enough that HE loves you and gives you the life you have and a way to spend eternity with HIM? What would ever be good enough for ppl like you ???

From this pagans point of view, we humans could not possibly fathom the entirety of god head and so just conceive of a way to relate to it.

"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end." (Revelation 22:13 )

I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty" (Revelation 1:8).
