In the U.S. as in any other country, the tastes are regional. I come from a southern family. I grew up eating that kind of food and that is what I like. (wish I didn't, it's not healthy and it's very fatting.) I live alone, but I cook about 4 times a week. I like to cook a big meal so I can have leftovers. I cook fried chicken, rice and gravey. Pork chops and mashed potatoes. Roasts with Potatoes and carots and onions. Steak and french fries. Breakfasts. All kinds. I use canned veg. because that's what my mom used. Blackeyed peas, grits, spinach, baby peas w/fried onions in with them. I must be hungry. I am thinking about all this food and no I don't weigh 300lbs.

Yes, I cook. My specialty is fried chicken and beef stew.
I cook a 1-2 times a week. I was smart in that I taught my husband everything I know how to cook and so he cooks more than I do. My kids also cook too and can cook all types of food (American, Japanese, Chinese, Hawaiian, Korean, etc.).

I enjoy cooking. It's the creative aspect, making something out of something else. I usually cook big batches of things two or three times a week, freezing single serving portions for work and evening meals. My speciality is curried chicken and rice, which I adapted from a vegetarian recipe so my carnivore roommate would eat it.

All day everyday. If you have children it is tremendously important. It creates the best memories. On their way home they anticipate their arrival with quizzical guesses of what great aromas await them. Mom's back at the stove always ready to turn and great them. A friendly tap to the back of the thieving hand sneaking a preview of the evenings yummy comforting treasures. It's all good. Even if some attempts end in burnt offerings. It's all good.

I enjoy making a special supper when I have the time. Tonight I made stuffed chicken breasts, with a mixture of spinach, red peppers, onion and feta cheese. My daughter would say that my specialty is my "world famous" chicken stew/soup. My favorite part of my job as home support worker is when I get to make meals for clients...especially when I have the freedom to make them anything I want to instead of them telling me some simple thing that they want.
