Whether one believes or doesn't believe there is a Satan, doesn't change the status quo. If there is a Satan it touches all of us, if there's not Satan we are the originators of Evil, and everyone has their part... In this case, based on logic only, we either created Satan to blame him for our bads, or there is a Satan and he's got everybody's number. Which of these make sense to you? Therefore, Bush and Hitler is no more a part of/ or touched by Satan than you and I are. What everybody does have is free will, and the ability to make their own decision. Does Satan have power over somebody? I don't believe that. I think we are perfectly capable to be bad on our own. We shift the blame so easily and when we can't pick any human out of the crowd, we go blame Satan... 'the devil made me do it" syndrome. I think we need to face up to our responsibilities. The Devil is there to influence, and trick people, but his powers are limited.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

No. Hitler certainly had evil aspects; Bush does not, although some things he does are arguably foolish. But there is no evidence to support the existence of satan.

Satan is here just as God is here and he has influence over this world and over its people. Even those of us who claim to believe are or at least can be affected by him. As to your reference to Hitler and G. Bush....only God knows for sure.

no, and no. He would have better things to do than to sit around here and listen to peoples problems. I don't know about Hitler, but Bush isn't evil, he's just not a very good leader. THere is a fine line between being evil and being stupid.

he's definitely here and has been for a very long time. More people than we will ever know have been influenced by satan. He can appear as an angel if he wants to, but he is a liar.

I don't know about Hitler and Bush, but my Bible tells me that Satan is alive and well and at work in our world, unfortunately, and I believe that.
