I must say purpose. For I feel that each and every one of us has a specific purpose and that everything that ever happens has a purpose.

It feels good to think there's a purpose to all this, but after I read Michael Crichton's "Jurassic Park" I've found another perspective... I can't remember it all too well, but basically there was this part in the book where the characters were having a conversation, and the gist was that such a specific series of events had to happen in order for life forms to appear and then evolve on planet Earth, that it would be highly unlikely that there would be humans on another planet... Anyway, I hope I've got that correct, but that really made me think. This doesn't mean that I don't believe in higher beings, but it's very fascinating to me. So... Really, I don't know the answer. All I can do is think about the possibilities.

Life is the result of billions of years of evolution since the time of the Big Bang.
Does it have a purpose? Sure, whatever we want to make of it. My purpose is - my family, my friends, my job, my community, my country, my world. I also work hard to have fun, enjoy everything, learn as much as I can, and make a difference.
So, yeah, life has a purpose.

well depends on who you ask. ask God and it's on purpose even if the life created was an accident. i.e. i'm here for a purpose but i was a 'surprise' to my parents. but as my life goes on i see why the 'surprise' happned i'm now the only one that has been able to stay near my father now that he has lost both parents and my mother all with in 7 years and he's raising my nephew who is 17 and i'm the only one of the three kids who hasn't basically abandoned him. my sisters both moved away and there are times he needs to be taken to appointments etc and if it weren't for me he wouldn't have anyone (my nephew who is lazy and he hasn't even attempted to get a license and stays away from home as much as he can wouldn't take time from his important life to help my dad out) also my mother always dreamed of having a grand daughter. my one sister has never had any kids and my other one basically turned her back on the family after dumping her son on the rest of us and i was able to give her a grand daughter before she died. which again shows the purpose of yet another 'surprise' at the time i got pregnant with my daughter i already had a ten month old boy and was devastated because i wasn't ready for another baby. turns out she was a girl and then my mom passed away just after my daughters first birthday ironically my daughter was born a month early to the day and was born 4 days before my mothers birthday and we celebrated her last birthday with my daughter's first birthday. i could go on and on but i think that covers it enough!

Life is just an accident. There is no purpose for life.I just don't understand the purpose of life when we see miseries all around.Killings.. lootings..rape.canibalism,terrorism,religious rivalries,wars..bombings.. and so on. Along with all these millions living in poverty, helplessness, mentally ill, physically and mentally handicapped, morons, idiots and psychopaths..At the end of the day what do we gain.?Totally meaningless!Live.procreate ,struggle and it goes on..

A glorious beautiful accident get it together though it's still very short lived and then we die, forever . As the wise man said as he picked up the hammer and saw ..., nothing is for ever !

Honey, I like your answer.
I don't claim to have the answer to that, but think about this. You, I, all of us, we're a part of the universe. You can no more divorce yourself from the universe than you can divorce yourself from your lungs. We are a part of the universe, and we are conscious, therefore the universe is conscious. We are the universe looking at itself.
If science can be said to have any failing at all, it is the attempt to divorce the observer from the observed. We are part of all we observe, and thereby, we affect it by observing it.
