Okay so if the Bible is the story of humanity from start to finish where's the ice age? Wouldn't that be an important note worthy moment in history. It's been proven that there were humans during the ice age. I mean there's a hundred stories in the Bible far less interesting than the world being covered in ice. I mean even if God was like, "That was the weather, not me" shouldn't THAT be mentioned in the Bible?

How can we still believe in the Bible when it makes no mention of the single greatest threat ever to our species?

Man you guys got nothing, I think I finally disproved the Bible. I mean: "I'm thinking the ice age was before the "great flood". Some of the ice was not damaged by the "great flood" was a vision I had."

Really? Come on I got another vision you might of had, Jesus? It's obviously all in your heads and we can all finally move on after you get your head out of your ***!

"Don't you have anything better to do than to whine about Christianity all the time?"

Sometimes, but I have fun doing it. Do you have nothing better to do to than NOT answer questions?

"And who said the Bible was Humanity's story from start to finish?"

The BIBLE! Adam and Eve to Revelations, you read this thing?

"Stop complaining and live your life."

I complain so you may live your life. Not for your made up God but for you, and us you selfish s.o.b.

"The flood actually provided perfect conditions for the single ice age the earth experienced. Would have taken about 700 years to thaw."

As you know, the Bible is a selection of middle eastern bronze age goat herders tales , that they were telling each other a night around the camp fire, playing to scare each other.
Their knowledge about the Ice age was no doubt scarce to say the least.

I don't believe the world has ever been through a global ice age. The only completely global diasaster that I believe to have actually happened is the great flood. I realize that there is so-called proof of ice ages everywhere such as glacial moraines and deep core samples, but there is a lack of proof in other things supported by Atheists such as the "Big Bang." According to a law of science matter is neither created nor destroyed, and yet the "Big Bang" states that over the course of billions of years a universe came from nothing and positioned the earth in just the right space to where human life could develop. A mile closer to the sun and we would fry. A mile farther from it and we would freeze. Explain that with science. Luck? Chance? I think not. (I realize there will be strong opposition to this statement saying how ignorant, and foolish it is, but have fun with criticising me. It's what I believe.)

There are sources that do map out man's timeline and the timeline of the Bible.
Try a Bible bookstore, or sometimes Bibles have information such as that in the preface or forward.
Don't think because you turn the page that a day month or year went by.
Look at The Student Bible History
ISBN:1-57748-985-3
We cannot have the mind of God and therefore cant know why one thing is included or excluded that we have knowledge of and that is not mentioned.
My birthday isnt mentioned. I'm part of humanity. I know God loves me. But still. Anyway, I still read the Bible.

you and others need to realize that the 6 days of creation aren't 24-hour days. There is a verse that says that 1 day to the Lord is like 1000 years. Note that one day is LIKE a thousand years; not one day IS a thousand years. Moses is telling us that time doesn't exist to God. [time is man made] So God could have created earth 100,000 years ago or 1,000,000 years ago. We honestly don't know. So let's just say that God created earth a million yrs ago. He created light and darkness then water and land. Then lands started to move due to earthquake and islands formed due to volcanoes under the seas. Then after the earth was the way God needed it to be to sustain life, He created sea creatures, birds and reptiles (large lizards=dinosaurs) and small mammals. Then Adam. Let's say God created Adam on the 6th day so that would have been 6000 yrs ago. Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden for a long time before they sinned. We don't even know how long Adam was on earth alone with just the animals before Eve came along. God doesn't have Moses write every detail down because it's irrevelant.

So now Adam and Eve are out of Eden and have a family and their sons have children with their sisters.( only beings there) No mankind starts populating the lands. Blah, blah, blah, tons of people sin, God regrets having made man and floods the lands in order to start over. Great flood kills the giant lizards (dinosaurs) meaning this was the time of their extinction. Mammals become the dominant species. Noah and his family repopulate the lands.

The ice age isn't mentioned in the Bible because it's irrevelant. It happened, we know that, but we have the wrong dates.

Nice try. But you cant explain away the truth. Many men have tried and every one has failed.

Lee Strobel will tell you. See his sight http://www.leestrobel.com

Its Not in the bible. It was not an act of God, but a natural reaction to an act of God.

The flood actually provided perfect conditions for the single ice age the earth experienced. Would have taken about 700 years to thaw. Goto http://www.answersingenesis.com for details

I suggest you let it go, dive in, and experience the incredible plan God has for your life. You were made to love God and be loved by Him.

Not that I want to support Biblical infallibility - believe me, I don't - but that's a straw man. It's like asking, "Where is President Bush in the phone book?"

The metaphor for religious writings that I like best was in a note in an article I just read (in "the American Scholar," if anybody cares) that likened the Talmud to the Internet - lots of stuff, some of it mutually contradictory, and sometimes the best stuff is behind some kind of damn subscriber wall so you cant read it.

So my question is not where is the ice age in the Bible, but rather, if I could Google the Bible, what search terms would I enter?

The bible is a story book. It is not a historical depiction of the beginning of time. It wasn't written by God himself as an autobiograpy of how he started the earth and what he did and when, etc. It is a story written by mortal man. It is not meant to be taken literally. Also, there was no technology at the time when it was written, so they may not have known about it. Get over yourself.
