Ali would beat Tyson. Could you see Tyson being able to beat Foreman? Ali would frustrate Tyson to the point Tyson would get disqualified.

The Ali of today, complete with Parkinson's would beat Mike Tyson, right now. If Ali took out both Liston and Forman, and a Holyfield like clone in Patterson, Tyson would be an open book for Muhammand. It dishonors the name of Muhammad Ali to mention Tyson in the same sentence with him. Tyson quit on his stool against an aging Irish club fighter, Ali would have taken Tyson to school so fast, if you blinked Mike would be back in the dressing room.
The blogbaba never considered Mike a top ten Heavyweight, Cus and Jacobs fixed his career, and the first 25 guys Mike fought laid down for him. I absolutely refuse to end this answer talking about Mike Tyson.
Muhammad Ali was bigger than boxing, took on the best the Heavyweight division ever produced, and to this day with the acception of "maybe" Ray Robinson was the best boxer in the history of the sport.
Hands down Ali wins.

For all the debating that has ever gone on over this question, really, it seems to me a pretty clear answer. People always talk about how hard Tyson hit, but I would imagine Ken Norton & George Foreman came pretty close.
Your real answer is this-Ali proved more than anybody in the history of boxing-EVER-to be able to make whatever adjustments it took to beat that fighter. You COULDN'T beat him twice and once was rare enough. If Tyson's style was thwarted (see Holyfield fights), he had no idea how to adjust.
Like Ali always said-"I know he hits hard, that's why I'm gonna make sure he don't hit me". He also had VERY underrated punching power. Let's face it-Buster Douglas knocked Tyson out. Honestly, the fight wouldn't really be that close.

Ali by TKO.Ali fought an won many fights, big fights. Tyson who did he whip?Did Tyson fight Riddick Bowe? NO. Did he fight Lennox Lewis? NO David Tua? no
Now who did Ali fight ? Sonny Liston ? YES Floyd Patterson? yes Joe FRAZIER ? YES GEORGE FOREMAN ? YES Ken Norton ? yes So tell me Ali would duck Tyson, i don't think so .
Ali beat everybody in 2 generations of fighters, Tyson had 3 good years then he was done an all he really did was fight nobody's or i suppose Peter McNEELY IS A HOUSEHOLD WORD. Tyson was an is a bully , Ali could have handled that. Buster Douglas beat Tyson with a jab an combinations remind you of anybody? ALI TKO 8

First of all, the fighters from the 70s were NOT as good as some of you seem to think. Jerry Quarry, Ken Norton, Ron Lyle against guys like Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis and Vladimir Klitschko???? Please. The guys from the recent era would walk right through them. They are better boxers, better conditioned, stronger. Smoking Joe Frazier, even in his prime, would have gotten smoked against a 1987 Mike Tyson. Ever watch the Ali-Jimmy Young fight? Lennox Lewis would have annhilated them. People from that era always say that was the golden era. Please. A prime Tyson was not just like George Foreman or Frazier. In his youth, he was a fundamentally sound, scary fast, and brutally strong boxer with a good tight defense. A prime Ali MAY have been able to stay away for 15 rounds. But no way does Foreman or Frazier come close to beating a 20 year old Mike. Todays heavyweights (2000-present) could hold their own against any era. Byrd, Toney, Lewis, Holyfield, Klitschko, Brewster, Ruiz, Golota, Tua, Valuev, Maskaev...could easily hang with those 70s rejects. Jimmy Young? Norton? Lyle? Wepner? Chuvalo? PLEASE.

The age old question, truth is, it's all hypothetical, it'd have to happen for real, even a few times, before it became clear who had who. After a huge decline in his career, Tyson has become grossly underrated and hated. There is no doubt he had speed and power, as well as sound tactics and rather impressive defense, he lost his two mentors too early on in his career, not to mention the compnay he had afterward. I don't know that we ever got to see exactly what a prime Tyson could do to a great heavyweight.
Ali proved his amazing talent, and needs no defense of his skills. My only thought on him fighting Tyson (prime), is that none of his oppenents, probably no other contender period was that similar to Tyson. Frazier has similar style, good left, but he was not as fast and could not hit with both hands. Foreman was powerful, I don't know that he could truly hit harder, I do know that he was nowhere near as fast or hastily aggressive. So it's hard to say, we can speculate forever, maybe make programs that "show" what would happen if they fought, but in all reality we're just spinning our wheels. Would have been awesome, probably richest fight in boxing history. Like it or not, Ali AND Tyson are two of the finest heavyweight fighters ever.

Ali would have outboxed Tyson and won a decision. Tyson may have had his moments and maybe even stunned or dropped Ali. but would lose too many rounds. I think Ali would've gotten to Tyson's mindset and defeated him before they even stepped into the ring. We all know tyson's lack of mental strength and his ability to break down mentally.

I watched most of Alis fights since my youth (48 now) and studied fight film when I got older...Ali fought guys who hit much harder (im sure none of you remember earnie 'acorn' shavers who fought much like tyson and actually knocked Ali down with a punch to the arm) and one thing is true about Ali, he could fight most anybody anyway he needed to...he had a great chin, and unlike most modern fighters, he always head hunted...you go thru film, you will see he never threw a body shot, had a razor sharp jab and great stamina, would often be on his toes boxing in the 12 or 13th round of 15 round fights...none of the modern heavyweights could do the things those of the 70s and 80s did (how about ron lyle and big george in a 12 knockdown fight over 6 rounds in Las Vegas, todays heavyweights? I dont think so...)

Both in their prime? Ali would destroy Tyson. Liston and Foremen were the same type of fighter as Tyson and just as feared. Ali knocked out both of those guys. Go rent "When we were Kings."
