Call a pet store and ask them if there is an agricultural pet store where a vet comes in once a week and gives shots. The shots are less than half the price of going to an expensive vet. You just have to show up between certain hours without an appt. This has been the best for my dogs & they send you out a reminder card every time its time for another shot. Puppies are supppose to have series of booster shots first before the rabies, which are due at 4 months.

Legally, you can't do rabies yourself. You have to go to the vet. If you do the rabies yourself, and the dog bites someone or gets into a fight with a wild animal, legally it will be treated as if it has never had a rabies vaccine, which means it could be euthanized by court order. Check the phone book, some vets do walk-ins and it will say so right in their ad.

Most vets will do a walk in for a rabies shot. Just call your local vets office and ask.

You need an appointment with almost any vet. You can usually get one the same day if you call first thing in the morning. There is very rarely over one day's wait. If you can't manage to call for an appointment, just go and sit and wait they will probably squeeze you in sometime during the day.

Call some local vets and the SPCA or shelter and ask if they allow walk ins. But what is wrong with just making an appointment?
