Since the 1993 Oslo peace accord, Palestinians have killed more israelis through terrorism and suicide bombings than in the 15 years previous to it. The Palestinian Authority did not follow through on ANY of their committments whatsoever, not even the simplest one, which was changing the Palestinian Charter. Israel followed through on all of theirs, even as far as arming the new Palestinian Police Force - these weapons were since used against israeli civilians. How on earth did anyone, let alone Yitzak Rabin and President Clinton, believe the words of Yasser Arafat? Even the Palestinian communication advisor admitted that ''the Oslo accord was just a Trojan Horse to get inside Isreal in order to carry out further armed conflict''

So was it just wishful thinking by the rest of the world? I'm convinced these people have no wish for peace, their sole purpose in life is to committ terrorism and kill. What do you think?

The decades of refugee camps are a result of the Palestinian people refusing the original offer of a double state - Israeli state AND Palestinian state was tabled, but REFUSED by the Palestinians in 1948. Immediately the state was born, 5 neighbouring Arab countries invaded.

BRAINSTORM - the land belonged to israel thousands of years before Palestinians were even named Palestine

TINKERBELL05 - you are so misinformed. After Oslo, Israel gave back authority of the Gaza Strip, and a large percentage of the West Bank of the river, including the Dome of the Rock. Israel funded the new Palestinian Police Force, including arming them. Also, another committment of Oslo was education for peace, which Israel did - teachers, community leaders and others were prosecuted if they didn't recognise the peace deal. All educational books were audtited to ensure compliance 100%

The Palestinians did nothing - money from israel and America, which was meant for educational summer camps for Palestinians was used to create terrorist training camps where children were brainwashed to become shahads.

TINKERBELL05 - the PLO was renamed the Palestinian Authority, and was instated as the governing authority for the new state of Palestine. At the same time, Arafat was kissing Yassin (Hamas founder) on Palestinian TV.

YAZAN - the Oslo accords allowed for further expansion of settlements - stopping building of settlements was never a part of Oslo. It was seen to be in bad taste though I admit, and was not a good policy. I also admit that lands were not handed over timely - it was 1998 before West Bank and Gaza were handed over, and it was 42% of the land that was handed back, your figures are innaccurate. BUT, you must remember that at this time, Arafat was saying to the world that he recognised Israel, but on Palestinian TV he was saying a totally different story, and I quote Arafat, post Oslo ''peace for me is the destruction of Israel, jihad, jihad, jihad''.

SUNAMWAL - Israeli authorities audited the 60 educational texts taught in Palestinian schools - not ONE single book referred to an Israeli state, and not ONE map showed Israel. To this day, not one text book in Palestinian schools refers to, or shows Israel on their maps.

PERSIAN_BOY - your sources are as biased in your direction, as the sources I could quote are biased in my direction. Just look at any Palestinian media and my point is made. State media is brainwashing children from birth, to be martyrs. Some parents do this as well. I quote Arafat again - ''if a man is getting weary, let him send me his son''. Over the years, Israel has offered to fund new housing for the refugees also, but this has not been permitted by the Palestinian authorities. The PA does not want their refugees housed - they would lose their reason for jihad. Arafat's authority also stated live on state TV that the latest interfada was already planned, long before Sharon's visit to the Al Aksa mosque (which was widely cited as the cause), confirming that they had no intention of settling for peace.

Since Israel founded till now, Zionists are killing innocent Palestine civilians, running out them of their forefathers land, put their in jails, torture them and demolish Palestinian houses while they are inside the house.
All peace accords were opportunities for Zionists to continue their desires for running out more Palestinian of their lands. Israelis sign accords and then disregard it easily. Again they sign other agreement and give more points of Palestinian. While some of Palestinian have done resistance against occupiers they accuse them to terrorist, etc.

If you are enough wise, you will see real world threats are Israel and US. They invading and occupy other countries with nonsense excuses while they are threating some other independent countries.

In one word, nobody can't trust to Israeli agreements and US desires.

I'll take a deep breath and tell you because what you said drived me crazy. Thanks to Yahoo answers, I learnt how to be patient from this great site, because some people post fake facts or tell lies, sometimes I wish I could smash my computer but that makes no difference.

Well, in 1993, PLO recognized Israel. Saying that getting 22% of Palestine is better than getting nothing, although we lost 78% of our beloved land. In Oslo accord, there is a difference between the French and the English translation of that "contract". Never mind...... After Oslo accords Israel started building settlements in the West Bank and didn't withdraw from our lands. What do you call this?? Isn't it a violation of Oslo accord??

Well the Oslo accord was supposed to be a mutual recognition and there were supposed to be 2 states there.Unfortunately the Palestinians are still waiting for theirs...
The PLO recognized Israel's right to exist in the borders from 1967,giving up more then 70% of the land they were entitled according to the partition plan...and the only thing they obtained from Israel was the recognition of the PLO as the spokesman of the Palestinians...
Palestinians gave up their land for peace and they got nothing in return...Israel didn't respect the Oslo accord...

The land belonged to Israel thousands of years before Palestinians were even named Palestine...So what's your point?Fine, then let's all leave our homes and lands so we can give it back to the ones that lived there thousands of years ago...Let's all go and live in refugee camps...Would you do it?I doubt it,dear...

Israel didn't gave anything back.Gaza and West Bank were still under illegal military occupation...And the Palestinians, through PLO recognized Israel.Period.Israel still hasn't recognized the Palestinians right to existence,to a state ,they still don't allow the Palestinian refugees to come back to their land...

I agree the world is blind when a terrorist like Yasser Arafat can win the noble peace prize. This guy is on tape encouraging suicide bomber kids.

Honestly, i cant believe that there are people stupid enough to buy the propaganda of Arab states. Israel has gone out of its way to try to create peace. The Arab states create peace only to re-group and strike later. It is almost always a lie.
