Let's face it, not every child is college material, but many jobs still require a high school diploma. How will your kids compete for those types of jobs?

I'm talking about as adults, how will the kids be able to apply for a job without a high school diploma if they are not planning on going to college?

Easy...homeschoolers get high school diplomas if they are in an accredited program or in a program through their local school.
Also, some choose to get a GED, and GED's and diplomas are viewed as the same.

I'm getting the impression that you think homeschooled students don't get high school diplomas? That's not true. In many places, parents are able to give their children diplomas and transcripts the way any private school would. Here where I live, only the provincial government can give official diplomas, but homeschooled students do what they need to all the time to get their diplomas.

I'm not by any means saying that all homeschooled students get high school diplomas, but pointing out that being homeschooled doesn't mean you don't get the diploma.

Now, back to the actual question, I know people who do not have high school diplomas and still got good jobs. There is trades training which does not require a diploma, even being managers of stores and things like that does not require having a high school diploma. If someone is still reasonably educated and doesn't have an official diploma, a lot of places will see what you have in your portfolio, see what you've done, what you know.

I am still early in my HSing as my oldest is only three, but I know she will be able to get a diploma when the time comes. I have not search all the options since we are not in need of this for many years but at the very least she can get her GED. There are also schools that act as the administration for your hs-er and in some cases the children can even walk with the class. You can even use a corespondence school that can provide you with a diploma.

Many colleges have High School diploma programs, where they can take the portfolio that you've kept with your child's home schooled education and turn that into credits for high school completion. My son needed to take a single college level course to be awarded his high school diploma.

Your child could also take the GED test and be awarded that diploma or certificate of completion which is equal to a high school diploma. Most applications ask for either one.

your assumption is faulty. Who told you homeschool students do not receive diplomas?
You need to face it, you are listening to the wrong people.

But, to answer your question, if one of my children decided they did not want to go to college, and if your faulty assumption was correct, and they did not possess a highschool diploma, and if you are representative of the level of competition they will face, then I'm not concerned at all. Their level of reasoning and research far surpass that which you displayed in your question, so they would smoke you in a job interview setting.
I mean, since you asked and all.

Uh, many homeschoolers do receive diplomas from their teachers (parents).
